I've had the PS5 for 3 days now and I dig it.

I dug it 5 minutes after I plugged it in. It's very cool. No doubt it's a great system.

However, after the first 2 days, I expected- like all new tech- the 'wow, this is so new and cool!' feeling would start to fade. And it did. No problem. Always occurs.

But even with that, I found myself-even with a number of games I'm loving on PC right now (PRODEUS is amazing!!!)- unable to stop going back to the PS5.

So I was curious why.

Demon's Souls and Sackboy are great games, but I'd played lots of games like them before. Why were these particular games- for me at least- so damn sticky?!?

And then I realized: OHHHHH, it's THESE 2 things that are keeping me glued to my PS5!

So, you know, I made a video about it.

I've never been a completionist or trophy hunter

Mainly I've never had any interest in jumping online, figuring out what I've missed and what I need to do for a trophy

But the activity cards and speed of everything have totally flipped my perception. Being able to just jump to a part of a level, have a video available for hints if I need it and be able to do what I missed the first time is a massive hook

Absolutely love it and its not a feature I expected to use much

The second point is a interesting case, i actually like the long load times to take some breaths if the game is too hard or intense. The only case where i see it helping me are the sorts of games where you can die almost immediately many times over

Seeing Demon's Souls load back into gameplay after each death "that" fast sold me on jumping back into the genre. I loved Bloodborne but after a while the long loading times means I played it less and less. And eventually, I stopped playing it without completing it which is rare for me.

I can't wait to jump back in. I'll probably BC the other soul games if/when their loading becomes fast.
