Those are not absent as they pump most of those out regularly in some way, maybe not exact but very similar. Lately though I have seen a lot of games implement animals into essentially human roles to possibly avoid controversy? I think Biomutant, despite flaws, at least had your character running on all fours. When animal traits are neglected, what is the purpose? To be cute, funny? If that is the case then why are they in dark settings and plot lines? A couple recent games like F.I.S.T., Back to Dawn and Ratten Reich fall into this category. IDK, to ea. their own and its the devs choice, but it lessens my interest in those titles.

Super Lucky Tale is an exceptional game.
