I'm trying to set up an appointment with the doctor a.s.a.p. but I haven't used one in this area before and I'm having to go through the insurance network to find it, etc. etc.

Anyway the past week or so I noticed my ass itching at night to the point where I couldn't sleep. I'm irritable because of that. My appetite also dropped significantly. Then I found the worms in my stool. I googled the worms and found them to be pinworms. I had also been sleeping nude the past few weeks because it was so warm in the house and we didn't want to use air conditioning for the winter.

Sooo I'm assuming that I've probably reinfected myself quite a few times already. I washed all my sheets and clothing and I found a medicine called Reese's Pinworm but I'm not sure how well it works, how well it prevents reinfection, or what else to do. My research tells me that pinworms are ridiculously contagious...I'm not even sure if I should tell my roommates or not, in case they have it or whatever.

I hear mostly small children get it, but I guess I got it too.

Anyone else dealt with this before? How did you treat it?

If I had to pick I wish I could have had tapeworms or something....at least those don't lay eggs on your butthole at night.

The first step is to not make a thread about it. Second step is to see a doctor and do whatever he tells you.

The main treatment is a single dose of either mebendazole or albendazole, which kill the pinworms (not the eggs). These are available over-the-counter and by prescription.

More than one household member is likely to be infected, so the entire household is often treated. The single-dose treatment is often repeated after 2 weeks. This treats worms that hatched since the first treatment.

To control the eggs:

Clean toilet seats daily

Keep fingernails short and clean

Wash all bed linens twice a week

Wash hands before meals and after using the toilet

Avoid scratching the infected area around the anus. This can contaminate your fingers and everything else that you touch afterwards.

Keep your hands and fingers away from your nose and mouth unless they are freshly washed. Carry out these measures while family members are being treated for pinworms.

so go find that OTC medecine and drug all your roomates with it for the next 3 months, and should be good! no need to tell anyone :)

Did you get that idea from the GAF thread on sleeping nude?

What say you now, nude-sleeping GAF!??!

Those things are crazy contagious. You have roommates? You share furniture, and bathrooms? And kitchens. Do you wash your hands?

....Your roommates are doomed.

We're actually quite isolated....we kind of just live in our rooms, and I don't even really use the kitchen because they are disgustingly messy. But we've played board games together and that shares pieces so lol...

Maybe if their asses get itchy they can just research it themselves.

And sleeping without clothes on feels great D:

So contagious that I think I may have them now.

Seriously I'm itching all over. Fuck you OP! Expect a lawsuit!

...bedbugs. >:D

(I warned you. You can't sue me.)

You're just going to pretend like nothing's happened aren't you? And then act like they gave it to you. You're sick and you should be ashamed.

This is why I don't have roommates.

you may have gotten them from one of your roomates anyway. They probably have a thread up on some other forum where they're talking about it

what if the worms come out of your ass at night and crawl their way to your open mouth and lay eggs in your throat and then you re-poop out the worms that came out of your butt.

That's kind of how they reproduce, except since the eggs can be airborne they expect you to breathe in the eggs or pick your ass and then touch your face with your fingers :l

You're just going to pretend like nothing's happened aren't you? And then act like they gave it to you. You're sick and you should be ashamed.

This is why I don't have roommates.

So how then should I inform them?
"Go buy some Pin-X or Reese's Pinworm at the drug store now, before your ass is a Smörgåsbord of worm eggs. Actually it might be too late."

I'm worried I might cure myself and then they might reinfect me...hahaha

It really sounds like you should tell the roommates.

Does sleeping in the nude actually increase your chances of contracting the pinworms? Believe it or not, I've started sleeping naked since that thread a few days ago. Never again.

Well no, once you have pinworms it just makes it easier to reinfect yourself and continue their reproductive cycle. The eggs they lay get all over your underwear and bedding.

You contract pinworms from eggs you might accidentally ingest/inhale while in public areas with small children or food.

What you want to do here is just announce that you have the buttworms.

You and your housemates will bond over this and eventually win the Super Bowl. "They said we couldn't win with these buttworms in our butts!" will be your rallying cry.

Then Lindsay Soto will break it all down, emphasizing every syllable. And people will be like "what?".

You don't necessarily get it from being dirty, you can get it from a bad restaurant, or places where children are all the time...(I have two good ideas of where I contracted it...one being Chuck E. Cheese's lol) pinworm eggs get transmitted in the air and by places people who are infected touch. It's like the common cold in terms of contagiousness.

I'm actually quite hygienic (at least in comparison), my roommates are the slobs....they keep bags of trash in their room piled up and plates of food lying around for days. I'm moving out in 4 months though...

you and your roomates need to be quarantined away from the rest of society. I'm talking about putting a tent around your whole aptmt, hazmat suits, hosing you all down from head to toe, burning all your clothes and furniture... yeah.

I hope your other idea of contraction was from eating nerds outta a stripper's anus, otherwise getting pinworms from Chuck E Cheese doesnt sound very cool.

see kids this is what happens when you shower on a bi-weekly basis and only wash your bedding once every 6 months.

lol well that's not usually how you get them...that's how they stick around though. They can stay for months, or forever, if you're not hygienic.

how do you get rid of them?

I was hoping to see if anyone else had dealt with it, but I guess I'm alone here for now :(

According to the internet (lol) you can take a prescription or over-the-counter drug to kill the worms inside you...but the eggs can still be around your house and your clothing/sheets and you will reinfect yourself if you're not careful (since just touching an infected surface and then getting near your face will probably cause you to reinfect yourself), and then you'll have to poison the new worms inside you. I'm going to the doctor to make sure it's not something else but I'm about 99% sure it's pinworms so I already took Reese's Pinworm medicine which is OTC. I wasn't sure what made it different from the prescription meds.

In the meantime I'm going to have to wash my sheets almost every day and sanitize every surface in my house every few days to make sure the eggs are gone, I guess.

So if your ass starts itchin' at night, you might have ass worms. Pinworms are really common (though more among children) so watch out GAF lol

Parasites suck.

your going to have to find the cause in order to totally get rid of them.. or they will just keep using your ass as a hotel

if your roommates are growing landfills in their rooms odds are they have them too. you guys could make a support group.

how do you get rid of them?

medication you take for a few weeks to kill the eggs, colonics to rinse out the worms and burn everything you own.
