I'm competent to use a pc with little to no problem (on a confy couch too) and able to not be frustrated by marketing and fall to fomo.
so i will wait for now but can happen down the road
My last day one game was ratchet (i thing it will not come soon)
i will not buy any licence ported day one...they have joined square enix ones.

No. In two years the games are like $20 and they sell them for $50 on PC.

Why would the two years make a difference?

Nope. I've played everywhere on every platform, including PC. I still keep my eye on them all to see what everything offers but I've settled in on PS.

No, I'm too deep in their ecosystem to switch now. And I also like the customer experience there, so there would be little reason to.

I haven't played on PC in years. Is it really a crash/bug ridden experience. I thought nowadays PC ports are decent enough.

Some people say no, user error, bla bla bla
But the truth is somewhere in between I suspect. Probably ok for the most part.....

I think lots of PC gamers don't realize that a huge amount of people don't like to play on PC or can't afford it.

Streaming will kill consoles, not the loss of exclusives.

Nope doesn't bother me, going to build a PC for Starfield but will play it like a console, I will hooked up to my livingroom TV and I will use a Dualshock controller. Will buy the game off of Steam. You gotta research PC game purchases such a pain in the ass. Consoles are cheaper and more convenient.

no. my PC is also used as somewhat of a local LAN system for crossplay games. this is way more useful for Xbox games but multiplatform games are mostly crossplay nowadays as well.

just in case I have the PC, PS4 Pro and One X hooked up to the PC screen, and the Series X and PS5 are hooked up to the TV (the PC also has a 10m HDMI cable going to the TV, for those games that suck on Console but I still wanna play on the big screen on a controller... Deathloop says hi)

No.

I'd buy some games on PS5, some games on PC that I would have on PS5.. probably some games on PC that I wouldn't have on PS5... and probably double dip some as well.

No because I can’t afford the gaming computer I want 😆
PC gaming are much cheaper in the long run

More expensive to built but the game are much cheaper ( you can buy tons of games on steam summer sales) than your regular $60-$70 on ps5

Not to mention online are free ( you wont be needing xbl or ps plus subscription)

No. Between my Launch PS3 and my PS5 I have all PlayStation systems backwards compatible without having to toy with individual settings per game in between emulation and PC to make them look the best.

Not to mention my digital game collection on PSN spanning 3 systems I’d loose by switching to PC only of over 400 games

Not that I have much choice right now but I wasn't planning on buying a PS5. However, if Sony has fully embraced PC ports (even if late) then there's no chance I buy one.

On the other hand, IF Sony launched their store on PC with purchases being cross-platform or with a reasonable "upgrade" price (like $15-$20) then I'd actually be MORE likely to buy their console.

No, because I can resell or trade in my PS5 games. Besides that, physical console games tend to be cheaper than PC games.

... That last sentence hurts me, considering how cheap games used to get on steam/greenmangaming/etc. sales.😞
In Brazil, games in steam are still much cheaper. IIRC it's because of the taxes on the physical copies. Interesting contrast.

I actually do have a gaming PC, but I bought it because I also needed it for academic and professional purposes. And it wasn't possible at the time to buy a PS4 AND a PC. Currently, I don't plan on buying a PS5 or even a Switch due to money. If I could, I would have all platforms that produce games I like to play, and I'd have an upgraded PC too.

I don't have a PS5, likely won't ever buy a PS5 unless something amazing comes from their rumoured upcoming online multiplayer games, and I have a gaming pc with a 3070, so Sony could possibly get money from me where they likely wouldn't have before. For example I want to play spider man as Spider Man 2 was one of my favourite games on the original Xbox, but I definitely wouldn't buy a PS5 for it. If they release it on PC I'll buy it.

No thanks for waiting 2 years or more.

If they went day and date like Xbox then I'd sell it in a heartbeat and build a monster HTPC for the living room.

Not everyone has FOMO. I can barely keep up with playing games I don't have time to play games day 1
Especially with offline single player games. Doesn't really matter if you don't play it til 2 years later, it's not like an online multiplayer game where the population has died and you now can't play it.

Nah no chance, friends are on console. I have a pretty healthy Steam library already (was a PC gamer for about 20yrs) but haven’t played on there in a long time. With the way prices are now, I can’t see myself going back either.
Friends being on a different console/platform doesn't really matter much these days thankfully. For single player games it never mattered, for multiplayer almost everything is cross platform now.

Don’t have a pc. Don’t want one. Enjoy the console. Will hopefully continue this tradition. Pc folks can do whatever floats your boat. Enjoy console games on your pc. Let me continue enjoy to them on my console. Thanks. Bye.

PC expensive. Can't afford one? Get PS5
PS5 cheap. Get one if you can't afford PC.
Games on both platforms gives everyone options on which platform they chose to enjoy their games. It's a win win for both PC and console players.

No need to throw anything away or sell it.

I don't get this fucking mentality of people that you can only have one over the other.

I don't own a PS5 but still want one but am waiting for PSVR2 to see how much of an upgrade that will be. In the meantime, I already have a gaming desktop because I was interested in Control, and at that time consoles did not have real-time ray tracing.

I will say that personally for me, it would be exciting and refreshing to play PS Exclusives on PC because usually the recommended system requirements are higher than that of the console and may provide an even better and immersive experience. Plus some mods can be fun, though I rarely use them. Not an exclusive to Sony, but my experience coming from FFXV on PS4 to the Windows Edition is quite the experience. I do not even have that game installed on my SSD but it loads much faster than the PS4. I am actually glad I didn't install it on the SSD because I like looking at and reading the loading screen and unfortunately there isn't a button prompt to continue once the loading is done. But even then sometimes I still just don't read it all in time.

God of War is a game I keep hearing is really good but never got into this franchise yet, though I am interested. Or at least in the latest one and find the whole scenario about raising, teaching, protecting kids to be something I don't mind and appreciate. I am not a mother but regardless anyone can still have maternal or paternal instincts. In any case, I find those type of games such as The Walking Dead TTG, Horizon Zero Dawn (Though a short segment.), Resident Evil Revelations and so on to be a different experience than most games I usually play. Anyway, I think GoW may have the best immersion on PC so I am really excited and that definitely makes me more likely to get it. Hopefully it is done right because not all PC versions are good, but I suspect it will be of quality so time will tell.

Another thing to mention, while some were complaining so much about how horrible Cyberpunk 2077 was during its release, I had no major issues with the game at all on PC. There definitely were minor glitches as all games have glitches but nothing that ever prevented me from continuing and finishing the game. All the fuss wasn't something I could relate to as my experience was just completely different. It seemed to me that CP2077 was definitely optimized mostly for PC and everything else was an after thought and just couldn't be done in time for the release. I imagine the higher-ups just want a product released to make money whether its ready or not, or so that is my guess.

Anyway, PC and consoles have their advantages and disadvantages and it all depends on the individual which they prefer, if not all the above.

By the time they start releasing mid to late gen PS5 games, I doubt my PC will keep up. Plus I have an awesome PS4 digital catalog of already purchased game waiting for a PS5 (I sold my PS4 pro).

Ps5 makers are probably worried about this happening, which is why there are more and more exclusive games now
But honestly, I do

Games that can run ps5 games at 4k costs almost 1500 bucks. Atleast a 3070 GPU with 3600 cpu is required.

most PS5 games do not run at 4K tho, so why would you need a PC that can run them at 4K...

Control on PS5 runs at 1440 low settings. my 1200€ PC can run it at 1440p 120fps ultra or 1440p 60fps with raytracing set to to max. add DLSS, which actually makes the game look better, and I hit 80-90fps with RT
It also runs Deathloop at 1440p max setings with raytracing at 60fps... 1 or 2 years down the line that will be the entry level PC stats.
and the 60fps mode on PS5 runs the game without RT at lower res and settings than that btw. (dynamic 1440p going down to 1080p in stressful scenes)
