How’s it complicated? PS2 played PS1 games. PS3 played PS2 and PS1 games. They ditched it from PS4 to cut down on expenses plus they were moving toward a more refined architecture that would have been difficult to make PS1-3 games BC.. PS5 plays PS4 games. The end.
