IHS Markit Analyst Predicts That the PlayStation 5 Will Outsell Xbox Series X at Launch

So? This was something completely different. I never said that because of them being a Japanese company, I own a Switch myself.

the main reason for what I said was the censorship by Sony, the extremely anti-Gamer and anti-Developer behavior of Sony.
Sony is actually holding back the entire industry, and the gamer and developers are paying the price for that.
For example, crossbuy and crossplay. At the beginning Sony didn’t want that - EVERYONE else wanted that - EVEN FREAKING NINTENDO (!!). I would even understand Nintendo saying no, because they have a complete different audience, but even they said YES, whereas Sony is saying no and therefore holding back the entire industry.
This hurts the gamer and the developers and that’s why I said and hope that, so that Sony stops being arrogant Sony and starts to collaborate. This would be better for EVERYONE! Also, for YOU as a Gamer. Yes, you!
I honestly don’t know why you even are against crossplay and crossbuy... or you are even pro censorship. WTF? I don’t get it.
You should use some VALID arguments, like I do, and not some „huehuehue Americans huehuehue“

You deleted the line about being racist against americans lol.

Only americans can think that "american" is a race haha.

You are full of bullshit.

Holding back the indrusty?

Meanwhile MS shits around with tvtvtv and weak hardware, canceling lot of games

Nintendo sells weak ass switch which holds back games/ports

And in next gen MS wants to hold games back by wanting them to run on xbox one too.

Crossplay/buy are useless and add hassle.
It is like the guy lost his money on casino tries to ask some from the guy whom is winning, from his view it is a good deal.

Chill out with your all american patriotic nonsense, and no, americans arent "race".

Please do I'd like to see it.

You have two quarters listed. Let's see a full year for both, and actual sales, not shipments.

And links to see where you get the data from.

It seems both systems ended around the same amount at around 85 million, but 360 had a one year head start.

So also include what 360's first year head start sales are, so we can all determine what sales lead PS3 had over the remaining 6-7 years combined to make it so both systems had around 85 or million at the end.
You can get them in GAF:

360: https://www.neogaf.com/threads/microsoft-q4-1-1m-xbo-360-shipped.859945/

PS3:https://www.neogaf.com/threads/sony-fy12-400m-net-income-ps3-ps2-16-5m-vita-psp-5m-forecast.555550/

That's shipped not sold.

Even if we use shipped, 360 outsold PS3 during each system's launch year, and also when both systems were out at the same time (360's second year and PS3's first year).

Also you stated PS3 had 1.84 and 1.93M sales in its first two quarters of launch. The link you have say 1.7M and 1.8M.

And I can see when you stated your two quarter sales, you purposely omitted the next two quarters to make a full year with four quarters, which is where 360 beat out PS3 in total.

360 launch year

2005/06 Oc-Dc = 1.5M
2006/07 Ja-Mr = 1.7M
2006/07 Ap-Jn = 1.8M
2006/07 Jl-Sp = 1.0M
Total 6.0M

PS3 launch year
2006 Oc-Dc = 1.7M
2007 Ja-Mr = 1.8M
2007 Ap-Jn = 0.7M
2007 Jl-Sp = 1.3M
Total = 5.5M

If you want to compare them battling each other when both systems were out:

360 (second year)
2006/07 Oc-Dc = 4.4M
2006/07 Ja-Mr = 0.5M
2006/07 Ap-Jn = 0.7M
2006/07 Jl-Sp = 1.8M
Total = 7.4M

PS3 (launch year)
2006 Oc-Dc = 1.7M
2007 Ja-Mr = 1.8M
2007 Ap-Jn = 0.7M
2007 Jl-Sp = 1.3M
Total = 5.5M

If PS3 launched a year later and already there were 10 million units X360s on the market during that time and near launch of PS4/X1 ended up at 84 mil. like X360 ( X360s numbers during June 2014 ), what logic says? PS3 launch aligned was selling faster and more with 1 year ( somewhere almost year and a half ) disadvantage and backlog of 10 million units. And with that pace probably overtook X360 in the end. Since MS didn't announced any latest numbers, while Sony did 87+ million, highly likely PS3 sold more.

It wasn't 10 million. Using ethomaz's links, 360 had a 6 million head start.

Also, see my post above. 360 outsold PS3 both comparing launch year, and apples to apples head on for a year when they first butted heads starting in Q4 2006.

PS3 caught up slowly later on. The links also seem to stop tabulating for PS3 as the charts stop at 2012.

I don't know if either company did a final tally, but both seemed to be roughly 85M (give or take).

So if you exclude the 6 million head start, Son'y caught up 6 million units over the next 7 years when Xbox One/PS4 came out.

Xbox is now useless if you have a gaming PC plus Microsoft's exclusives this gen have been pretty terrible. I don't really care about console wars anymore since I mainly play PC now but unless Sony royally screws up they have this in the bag.

Uh, sorry. 6 million. Still in my head is Mattrick's statement X360 sold 10 million.

Anyway launch aligned doesn't mean launch only, but accross all periods during console lifecycle. Anyway my point still stand about selling more and at faster pace. Otherwise , Ps3 wouldn't reach X360 with 1 year disadvantage and 6 million units backlog if it wasn't selling at faster rate and more.

at the very begining, both consoles will be sold out, as usual. But yeah, it will happen on 2021.

But... why? If you have a gaming PC you can do everything Xbox can do but better and cheaper.

Better and cheaper? Sure?
My gaming pc cost me usd2k, more or less, and HDR is shit in comparison.
And my desktop is not connected to my TV (tried some solutions like Steam Link but worked really bad), and Xbox -or any other console for the matter- its just two clicks and you are playing.
Also Gamepass. I have Ultimate, but yet the number of xbox exclusive games on the service is orders of magnitude better than PC counterpart.
