• Hey Guest. Check out your NeoGAF Wrapped 2025 results here!

Ikaruga doesn't feel like a game that can be beaten by normal humans.

I love Ikaruga so much. The color switching mechanic was tough for me to get used to but man when you time it right and survive the barrage the game feels so rewarding...

The game is just unfairly difficult imo.

In 1cc runs you'll see people kill themselves to lower the difficulty too XD

It was on the Xbox 360 as part of muchi muchi pork and pink sweets, I quite enjoyed muchi muchi pork despite not being good at that one either.
But pink sweets just frustrated me immensely, probably one of more disappointing £150 I dropped on a game at launch, as the LE was pretty pricey on playasia, I've since sold up my STG collection though.

Amusingly the breast size of your character affected their speed on MMP :')

Got any less frustrating games to recommend me in my new setup?

Mostly Switch but I can dock a Steam Deck and use the same controller (s) I just have to flip the switch.

Bullet Soul Infinite Burst, lovely shooter, not too difficult, on the easier side imo.

Plus it's clear when to get bonuses for score etc.

It's proximity base for scoring too.

I think I have most the high scores on Xbox 360 for bonchou mode, it's BC too (well I did years ago)I think it'd on steam

Always had a soft spot for this game.

Mushihimesama futari 1.5 on Xbox 360, is probably my fave stg ever though, I'm surprised it hasn't had a re-release anywhere :(

On switch, Mushihimesama HD (has lower difficulties) beautiful game by cave.

Crimsom Clover.

Gunbird 1 & 2 love these games.

Shit kid. Go back and try about half the NES library...starting with the immortal, hitting TMNT, and ending with Battle Toads.
My dad beat immortal on the megadrive, it's more a game off trial and error.
Use to enjoy watching him progress through the game a little further each evening when I was a child.

I got NES TMNT for my birthday as a kid back in 1990. I gave up on that dream long ago and I have yet to meet a person in the real world that beat the game.

I've made it to stage 5 legit once.
And I used cheats to see the ending.
After seeing what stage 5 has to offer I highly doubt i'll try beating the game legit without infinite continues.
It's fairly not fun near the end.

Crazy tough game. Still one of the only schmups I'll play, most bore me to tears. Hell, I'm pretty sure I have my Gamecube copy floating around here somewhere.
