Last year I had a single one of my nominees end up a finalist or honorable mention in each category. This year 2-5 of my nominations were recognized in each category. Yay.

Kentucky Route Zero is impressive. I think Gone Home and 140 deserved more proper nominations. Really surprised Luftrausers wasn't recognized, but their IGF build was pretty busted.

Intrusion 2 is definitely on my "must check out soon" list.

Man, that video would've been great for some Paranormal Activity stuff, kept expecting something freaky to happen. But it looks like a totally normal, non-supernatural exploration game.

I think I have a hunch what the 'twist' is, but I don't want to ruin it for anyone. Of course I might be wrong.

In addition, all IGF 2013 Main Competition entrants are once again eligible for Microsoft Studios' second annual sponsored prize -- a guaranteed first-party publishing deal (including funding if desired) to release the selected title on LIVE-enabled platforms, including the Xbox LIVE Arcade service, Windows Phone, and Windows. (Last year's winner was Capy's frantic retro platform shooter Super TIME Force.)

I wonder what game will win? Anyone have any they would like to see win?
Lovers in a Dangerous Spacetime could be in with a chance, I'm all over that game when it comes out regardless.

I don't know if Microsoft backing has the sway it used to with the advent of Steam, especially if it comes with exclusivity, timed or otherwise.

Some creepy shit did happen in the build I played. Very edgy atmosphere, despite seeming very lighthearted.

I think Microsoft will get to pick and they'll go for something unreleased so they can have the exclusive to XBLA veneer for 6-12 months.

"Lovers in a Dangerous Spacetime" should win for the name alone, let alone the fact that it looks like an absolute riot.

That came out of nowhere. Really looking forward to that one now.

I'm not exactly sure I agree with Dys4ia. There's definitely a story but I'm not sure I'd nominated for Best Narrative. Seems to be the game that made it there just because it's a topical. Kentucky Route Zero has a really interesting premise but the story seems to be a little skimpy as well (i know it's just part 1 but still slightly more empty than I expected).

It's a shame To the Moon wasn't put up for this year.
