Indie Dev suggests both consoles exhibit RTX 2070 performance, says "we don't see many differences"

Devs have to be very careful about what they say about the new consoles, one wrong word and the warriors are beating their war drums.

Exactly as the guy from epic games of yesterday that say that ps5 is a masterpiece... Right now the Devs people must make a Blowjob to Sony and Microsoft 😧

not now, but probably on 7 years those consoles will run games at better settings than a 2080ti because optimization
Yay. In 7 years the consoles will run games better than a decade old card that will be firmly into legacy territory and will have had its drivers support dropped 3 years prior. Can't wait!

No, the dev of Scorn never said that. The demo of Scorn was revealed to be running on a 2080 Ti.

Also, the guy Grant Knot isn't even certain. He's saying he "thinks" the SX is more powerful than his PC. We're all expecting it to be in the ballpark of a 2080/S.

No one expects it to be equal to let alone surpass a 2080 Ti.
And how is the dev on OP so certain ? Grant Kot is himself working on a Xbox Series X game.

Yes he said that. In one interview he said Series X is on parity with PC version quality. In another interview he said XSX version would be 4K 60 fps, when asked about 'in-engine footage representative of expected Xbox Series X visual quality' he said the trailer was running on 2080 Ti with Ryzen Processor, further clarified that 2070 Super can run it at 4K 60 fps with a 'mixture of settings' . He also said that Steam reccomended settings are outdated based on a older build. So,
  • Xbox Series X version is on parity with PC version quality
  • Xbox Series X version runs at 4K 60 fps
  • Trailer that said 'in-engine footage representative of expected Xbox Series X visual quality' was running on RTX 2080 Ti with Ryzen processor
  • 2070 Super can also do 4K 60 fps at lower settings
  • Steam specs are outdated

And you're just making up him saying it is equivalent to a 2080 Ti. What it is saying is that the build running on a 2080 Ti can be achieved with an SX, not that they are equal.

I swear people have problems with reading or just understand what they want to.

So... He's hypothesising.

He even states he doesn't have dev kits yet.

Christ alive.

Don't be triggered bro, those are normal numbers. All turing cards sit at 1900+ core unless they're using paper as heatsinks. Boost behavior is standard on PC.

I know how boost behaviour works and Nvidia's peak TF numbers are based on the boost clocks stated on their spec sheet. When developers talk about relative performance that is what they will be referencing, not overclocked or binned chips.

Did I misread or is the commenter specifically talking about ray tracing performance and not raw GPU performance?

The most parts in both GPUs goes with clockspeed. In all these parts, PS5 GPU is 20% faster than XSeX^^
Thats not right. A high clock speed is to cover the fact that you only have 36CU. So if the fastest part is not all the way through the pipeline then what's there point. XSX is wide so it will not need to be fast.

To think AMD actually had the tech to leave Nvidia GPUs in the dust but decided to spare it and keep it secret to better fuel console wars, high end GPU market be damned.
