Tingbuild has revealed their next game on their publisher deals. A ball rolling puzzle action game called 'Road to Ballhalla' (formally Roll Playing Game). Afraid I am on mobile device right now so I won't be able to post up the links but their is a trailer and other details on their site.

Conquerors
A fun dual-stick shooter where you're an alien parasite controlling the invaders. It's simple, fun, and pretty satisfying to dodge bullets and latch onto the most powerful enemy in an area to mow everyone else down. Has a lot of potential for a bigger expanded game

Day By Day
Has a nice art style and a touching story, but the game is simple and too repetitive.

Cubyrinth
The visuals of the environment rotating into place and meshing together is cool, but that's all the game really has to offer

The alpha demo was a lot of fun. A sleek Marble Madness with the pin-point timing and challenge of a Trials game. a lot of perfectly timed rolls between moving lasers and dangerous floor grid patterns

Ahh, excellent to hear. I've actually got that alpha downloaded right now and with me finishing off Undertale tonight I very much imagine I will get the chance to take it out for a spin tomorrow.
Cool! If you have the time, you can send me feedback at:

A new demo will be playable at PAX South (tinyBuild booth) btw, including a level from chapter 2 where the levels slowly start getting crazier.

Devolver Digital and Buddy Cops have released the trailer for their next game OmniBus. It's a kinda arcadey physics driving thingy game. Hard to tell for sure what it will; be like from the 'trailer.'

Not much just yet, I officially started working on it in the beginning of this year, and will use it as a writing, animation and gamedev exercise (I wrote some unpublished screenplays in the past and started a novel last year).

I finished writing the first chapter, ten more to go. The art style will stay simple since I want to actually finish the game :)P). My main inspirations are Hotel Dusk, Another Code and Ghost Trick.

Oxenfree is so good, guys. Highly recommend checking it out, and go in as blind as possible.

Yep, I definitely confirm.

It does have a slow start though, so you may be put off by it but it's worth to give it a chance, I feel it's the "life is strange" of 2016, a surprisingly nice game coming out of nowhere.

TinyBuild revealed the 4th game on their 'games of 2016 list.' It is called Diaries of a Spaceport Janitor. Looks like an narrative focused adventure game, although from the early material it is hard to tell what the final game will really be like.

I actually finished a game! Oxenfree took about 5 hours, but considering the devs said a playthrough was about 7-9, I wonder how much stuff I missed.

I loved it. Definitely something that'll likely end up somewhere in my 2016 GOTY nominee list.

What I disliked:
- Climbing walls got annoying after the third or fourth time
- Ending felt kind of abrupt

What I liked
- But I didn't want it to end
- From a narrative standpoint, every aspect was fantastic. Dialogue, characters, the pacing. I loved it
- The walk-and-talk mechanic for dialogue choices was really effective and something I'd liked to see adopted by other games
- When stuff started happening, it was done so so well. The game nailed its unsettling moments and eerie elements perfectly, without needing jump scares or anything like that
- The atmosphere and art style was gorgeous
-
It's called a supernatural thriller, but really it's cosmic horror/Lovecraftian, and when I realized that, it was great

I really want to like Punch Club, but after two hours the game feels more like a chore than anything else. And don't understand me wrong I LOVE these kinds of sims. But the fact that your stats drop after some time is just awful.

I'll still play it... mostly because it is extremely charming.

Making Consortium free this weekend was a brilliant marketing move by the devs. I hadn't played the game before and was on the fence about whether I was going to back the sequel's Kickstarter (likely was, but wasn't sure), but now it's a done deal

This level of complexity, the fascinating meta-structure of literally role-playing as a person and just being dropped in the deep end and needing to learn about the world, all the different weapons and gear and armor you can equip, the lore...in Unreal 4, with better visuals, and more gameplay options and improved mechanics?

Yeah, I'm sold

Kickstarter is Monday btw

I'm friends with the developers, the difficulty figuring out what the game is like is very intentional. I'm super pumped for it.

It's weird the way your mind works, I booted up SquareCells for the first time this year and competed two levels with relative ease despite having been roadblocked by them for ages beforehand (and I mean ages). Only one more puzzle to go before I've wrapped this up for good.

If you post in the steam thread, I recommend checking it out for the Castle Doctrine giveaway going on now.

Was trying to go through some games in my backlog, and was playing through QUBE. I had remembered liking it when I first played it, but now it's just so boring and mediocre.

Maybe it's because I've played other much better first-person puzzlers since my initial time playing QUBE, but the environments are just dull and lifeless, the puzzles are as basic as can be, and the director's cut shoehorns an unnecessary story into the game. Where I stopped today, the section revolved these annoying puzzles where you have to manipulate rolling balls into the correctly-colored pits.

man some of these indie games have me more excited then triple A games, lol but because of that a lot more othem disappoint me, but these recent ones you guys are linking..look so good.

I wish rain world would come out that just look like a modern day pacman

I have more positive memories of that game.. I rather liked the aesthetics and the fact it really let you just experiment with the puzzles and mechanics rather then lecture you on exactly how they work is something I appreciate in a puzzle game. Although I played through the original version so perhaps they've ruined the 2nd point I really liked about it.

If you ever want to play a super mediocre first person puzzle game then buy Magnetic: Cage Closed off steam. I got that in a bundle and played through it a bit before the holidays. You basically play as a prisoner in a weapon testing facility with a magnetic gun which is essentially a slightly worse version of the HL2 gravity gun. Once the initial fun of pulling/pushing yourself around goes by the game becomes unbelievably unimaginative and cliche.

I want to play MagRunner Dark Pulse, but I only own it on GOG. Need it on Steam before.

Magrunner is real solid, worth playing when you have the chance to. I remember being roadblocked somewhere in act 2 of it, but I was really enjoying it before then. Your post is actually making me reinstall it, I'll give it a go again. See if it is one of those odd situations when you finish a puzzle in 2 minutes when it stopped the past version of yourself from finishing the game.

Posted this in the Steam thread but it moves waaaaay too fast...

Anybody played Chiptune Champion? It came out a few weeks back. Steam reviews seem pretty good and I'm a sucker for rhythm action games (and chiptunes) so I'll probably pick it up :)
