SACRAMENTO, Calif. - Two men fatally shot a 21-year-old man during a suspected home-invasion, then shot his 7-month-old son in the head as he was strapped in a car seat outside the home, police said.

Detectives believe Sean Paul Aquitania drove with his son, Sean Paul Aquitania Jr., to a home on Friday to visit friends. He left the infant in the car and went to the front door. As two men answered, two other men ran up and forced their way inside, sheriff’s spokesman Sgt. Tim Curran said Saturday.

A melee erupted, and Aquitania was shot at least twice in the upper body. The two suspects fled, stopping to shoot the infant. No one else was injured, Curran said.

The men whom Aquitania had gone to visit were questioned by detectives but not taken into custody, Curran said. They were initially cooperative, but detectives believe they know more than they are saying, he said.

“We are angered as law enforcement officers and disturbed as human beings that anyone could commit such an unconscionable act against an innocent child,” Curran said. “We also find it morally reprehensible that people who may have information that could help our detectives solve this tragic case have seemingly been less than honest.”

Authorities were searching for the suspects, Curran said.

Investigators initially believed the infant was killed accidentally by a stray bullet, but later determined he was killed execution-style.

Why?! I can't begin to comprehend the mindset one must be in to commit such an atrocious act. There is no excuse for this. What have we become, this is not humanity, this is savagery. Fuck all this technology, we are still cavemen.

Wh-why? What the hell? Why would you shoot a baby? I mean, seriously? Did they expect it to try to stop them? I'm ashamed of humanity again.

In their messed up minds the killers probably thought they were doing the kid a favour.

Just horrible. What a tragedy.

I'm at a loss for words. Its fucking terrible that I'm kind of desensitized to this type of madness, and that I'm honestly not even suprised that the people aren't talking. Such a shame. I hope all of the bastards involved are caught, and brought to "justice".

Fact: in countries where guns do not exist, gun related crimes are significantly lower than in countries in which firearms are legal.

Can't dispute that, it's a fact!

Some shit was going down. Somebody owed some money or something.

Reading accounts of mob hits and torture jobs, this is the kind of thing that happens. More often it is done to send a message to others who owe or teaching people they aren't to be taken lightly. It is a tragedy and completely fucked up. This sounds like some MS13 bullshit.

Don't bring up gun control or anything like that. If there were no guns, these same people would have chopped them up with machetes.

FACT: It would be next to impossible to enforce anti-gun laws in the US. There are already too many firearms in the country and our border is way too porous. We'd never get the guns taken out of society. Well, we might, but the criminals would still have plenty.

OKAY, dipshits. Someone was ambushed and then someone stopped to take time out to kill a baby. There was a direct melee.

They already had the element of surprise. If they had only knives it wouldn't have fucking mattered. So STIF-FOO.

Thankfully I don't read about things as bad as infants being shot in the head while strapped in their car seat everyday. Where do you live so I can stay far the fuck away from that place?

I understand, but i have a 2 year old nephew and this story brought a tear to my eye.

I am having a hard time finding the words to explain my feelings. The baby was innocent, committed no crime, cause no harm to anyone so why would someone take away his chance at life.

Sounds like father and son were part of a hit. Lured to one location, then executed to end the lineage?

Who goes around ending lineages nowadays?!

Sounds like organized crime / gang violence. Sounds like it was an intentional ambush as well.

This is the sort of thing dark fantasy villains do in order to ensure no one from the village ever comes back for revenge. Fucking hell.

that's my argument about drunk drivers. i don't even know why it's illegal... there's so much booze and so many people with cars, it should just be legal. it'd be easier that way.

Completely off topic (kind of) but your love of guns and the right to have one etc is really quite annoying. :-/

My theory, the father was supposed to sell some dope, he never gave the money to the supplier. The supplier called his friends, told them to tell him when the father came over. They did, the supplier's boys shot up the father and the kid just to send a message that no one steals money/dope from the supplier/gang. The friends were telling the story and clammed up when they got to the point that would have implicated the supplier/gang because they don't want to get shot up either.

There's a difference between owning a gun, and driving drunk. Owning a gun is the equivalent to drinking. Shooting the gun illegally is equivalent to driving drunk. Making the act of owning it illegal because some people will do bad things with it is silly.

My theory...

You've been watching too many movies. It was probably just a Random Act of Extreme Violence by a person whose criminal insanity has been ignored by his uncaring parents and underfunded school system.
