I am Pakistani as well. God is this embarassing. Here's Arslan Ash who keeps winning glory for our country and here's this POS who squanders it.

Yes, the price was close to US retail pricing.

More context: Sony doesn't sell PlayStations here officially. The retailers who imported PS5s were charging premiums. Initially the prices were around $900 USD (this included some necessary additional costs such as import duties, shipping charges, handling charges, etc.). It then eventually fell to around $750-ish. All these were retail sales, by the way. You could order online/visit the shop, pay $750/$900, get the console right then and there.

This guy opened pre-orders with 100% amount to be deposited by the customer. Delivery would be after 2-3 months. The price was ~$530, which was amazing. The guy had built a lot of good reputation in the community and won several awards in the local community for being reliable and offering good imported products at a significantly better rate. So people bought from him. And he delivered. For multiple years he delivered everything just fine.

Until he didn't and just ran away with all the money.

So, he was planning this all along. Earning trust from you guys, once it became a significant number of people (and their pre-order money, with a 3 month window that he can plan everything before) and scamming you all at once.

That's some hustle right there, but doesn't make him any less of a pathetic shitstain, scamming innocent people, many of whom might be kids who saved their pocket money from their parents and can.t afford more than that to get a new platform.

People are fucking stupid and deserved to be scammed. People take advantage on ones ignorance and stupidity. This is a dog eat dog world. You got to have your defences up. Whoever spends ridiculous money on this influencer crap deserves it.

He wasn't an "influencer" as the title suggests. He owned a retail shop with multiple branches in multiple cities.

Yeah, pretty much.

Also, he didn't just give himself a 3-month window. he delayed multiple batches of PS5 and GPU (starting from Q3 2021 I think) citing reasons such as supply-chain issues and COVID. And while he didn't deliver the last few batches in their entirety, he kept opening new batches for more pre-order requests. So he gave himself a nice 6-9 month window to rack up the money.

In the end, people were getting real frustrated with him and started claiming refunds and stopped ordering from him as much (because he kept pushing the delivery dates and kept giving excuses).
