Is Demolition Man one of the most insulting and shameless movies ever made?

It is almost as if the director set out to insult everyones intelligence with this steaming pile. The whole premise is ridiculous. Police have forgotten how to deal with unruly citizens (they have to consult their handheld computer when Wesley is cursing at the ATM). Everyone just became simpering children in the future.

They even named it "Rambo The Destroyer" in some countries so people would go see it.

Wesley Snipes was told to slow his punches and kicks (He is a blackbelt) so he telegraphs his fight scenes.

Wesley Snipes is an awful actor.

Wesley Snipes in denim washed overalls.

Sandra Bullock isn't meant for genre films

Rob Schneider. Though he was in every 90s movie.

such an awesome movie, I watched it so much as a kid and it still holds up well today. Pity it was snubbed by the academy

Demolition Man is accurately predicting the future of Politically Correct sissy America.

The only things it missed is Youtube and the inevitable Peanut Allergy Pandemic.

OP is so fucking wrong. One of the most awesome movies EVER.
You see, according to Cocteau's plan, I'm the enemy, 'cause I like to think; I like to read. I'm into freedom of speech and freedom of choice. I'm the kind of guy who likes to sit in a greasy spoon and wonder, "Gee, should I have the T-bone steak or the jumbo rack of barbecued ribs with the side order of gravy fries?" I WANT high cholesterol. I wanna eat bacon and butter and BUCKETS of cheese, okay? I want to smoke a Cuban cigar the size of Cincinnati in the non-smoking section. I want to run through the streets naked with green Jell-o all over my body reading Playboy magazine. Why? Because I suddenly might feel the need to, okay, pal? I've SEEN the future. Do you know what it is? It's a 47-year-old virgin sitting around in his beige pajamas, drinking a banana-broccoli shake, singing "I'm an Oscar Meyer Wiener".

Taco Bell is the only restaurant in the future!

Demolition Man was a great movie, the OP seriously needs to get in his cryo-sleep chamber and get re-educated into a seamstress.

Sorry OP but I'm gonna have to disagree. Demolition Man is one of those movies that just doesn't get old. Plus, how can you hate an all Taco Bell future?

The very first shot of the movie, flying over the hill with the Hollywood sign in flames, basically summed the whole movie up right then and there.

And hamburgers made of rats.

SO AWESOME.

definitely an awesome movie. haven't seen it in probably three or so years, but now I will watch it again just because.

as for the cops becoming sissies, I can totally see it if the perfect vision of a crime-less future ever sees the light of day due to all the big brother and government restrictions the movie demonstrates.

Yeah I always considered Demololition Man as my Guilty pleasure movie.

and recently I don't even see why its a guilty pleasure. The movie is just plain fun, awesome concept and execution with laughs throughout. Not to mention some great old school action sequences.
