Is it more disrespectful to slap someone than to punch them?

A good while back I lived with two other guys. One of em was really chill and a good dude. The other was fun to hang around often enough, but a total knob and a drunk(not in the fun way). We all had cars, but there was only a 2-car driveway so Knob would often park perpendicular behind my car and our other roommate's at night so he didn't have to find a spot on the street. Wasn't usually a problem. Sometimes I'd have to get him to move, it wasn't too big a deal.

Except one morning I was trying to get to work. I knocked on his door and told him he needed to move. No answer. Knocked harder. "Ok, ok ." I knew he was hungover as shit. I go and start up my car and wait for him but he never comes. I go back inside after a few minutes and bang on the door, "Wake up man! I've gotta get to work." "I'm coming, hold on!" "No man, now! I've been waiting a while already." He opens up the door and is like, "Fuck you, I'll do it when I want to" and I just slapped the shit out of him right there instantly. I was expecting a fight, but he was just all, "You're a bitch dude, you're a bitch, you're gonna slap somebody like a girl?", but I just kept yelling at him to move his damn car. He didn't do shit, moved his car, and I never forgot what it felt like making him feel like a pussy that morning.

It probably shouldn't be something to be proud of, but it was one of the most satisfying experiences of my life, I cant lie.

I agree that a slap is more disrespectful but I think a punch is more painful too.
I got hit with a open palm puch (punch/slap hybrid) by a class bully when I was 14. It didnt really hurt but I was in shock when it happened as it was completely unprovoked. I pushed this guy off a chair while he was running away from me
, and broke his wrist
. lolol
Was he in a wheelchair?

Slapping is worse simply because the 'slapper' doesn't see the 'slappee' as a threat. If you felt threatened you would try to punch the other person, sending a stronger message.

It's a slap in the face I tells ya.

Oh wow, you definitely sound the bigger (biggest) asshole in this situation.

I think the back hand slap is the most disrespectful out of all the slaps. A close second would be the slap with a pair of gloves. Then the open hand front slap.

Guy was a douchebag, but judge away.

In fact, our other roommate(who was a very laidpack person) ended up kicking his ass properly later on after Knob kicked his dog in front of him.

Yep. A slap says the other person is not my equal.
Lol I never really thought about it but it makes sense. You slap someone you certainly aren't trying to do max damage so it's like saying "you're not really a threat enough to me for me to even try to deck you".

Not defending your roommate or saying he wasn't an asshole in that situation, but you slapping him automatically made you the bigger one. Gaining satisfaction from it is even worse. I assume you two were not on speaking terms afterward.

I'm not going to keep defending this to somebody who wasn't there or doesn't know anyone involved, but I'll just say - it wasn't the first time we had issues and when someone gets in your face and says 'fuck you' and then proceeds to tell me he's just gonna take his sweet time when I'm trying to get to work just because he's ALWAYS hungover, you're never going to convince me I was in the wrong. Just aint gonna happen.

But as I said, judge away.

Maybe you could have told him to switch parking with you the day before knowing you had work early and that he most likely will get drunk. Just saying.

Everything is always so simple in hindsight aint it? lol

Like I said, I never had any problems with the parking situation before. Wasn't the first time I had to ask him to move in the morning.

See, you fucked up by not backhanding him. Open hand slaps are lame.

Fuck you!

*backhand*

Move you're car!

A slap is FAR more disrespectful, especially if you look them in the eyes afterwards. It's basically saying "you ain't shit and you ain't gon' be shit" with your hands.

I was watching an episode of DS9 and they were on a Klingon mission and Sisko hit Worph in the face with the back of his hand. Worph said that this was the initiation for a fight to the death so it's better to hit somebody with fist.
