Is Kojima gonna show the Fox Engine at Comi-Con? [Up: Something shown behind doors]

I'll start by saying I have no insider info or anything about Kojima Productions's plan for Comicon, but I have noticed a number of hints that lead me to think that there's a high chance they will show something at this week's Comi-Con. So here's what I've collected so far:

1. Kojima in Paris (see my post here http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=473812). During an interview for Gameblog.fr, Kojima said they won't show the Fox Engine during E3 (and they didn't indeed), but he added that he wants to show it this July, to coincide with the original Metal Gear's 25th anniversary (it came out July 7th 1986).
2. San Diego's Comic-Con is in July (12th-15th).
3. Kojima and Imaizumi just flew from Tokyo to LA today.
4. Kojima tweeted this:
Take bath and get on the red-eye to fight abroad. lol
http://twitter.com/HIDEO_KOJIMA_EN/status/221927245781016576
and this:
Got the latest data for my presentation from staff in Kojima Production who came to airport even on Sunday. Thanks. Mission complete. http://t.co/DdY3tb7m
http://www.twitlonger.com/show/i7ocsm
Which clearly means that he's presenting something (his staff brought him some last minute data at the airport), and it's something important because of the way he said he's gonna go fight against the rest of the world (rejoining the idea that his Project Ogre is gonna shock a lot of people?)
5. Imaizumi tweeted this:
Arrived LA. We will meet one of the coolest people in this industry tomorrow. I can't wait!!!
http://twitter.com/Ken1555/status/222208954720202753
Which made me think that maybe this won't be a public presentation, and that they're only gonna show their tech to a special someone in LA. But then I asked him about it and he replied this:
I will tell you later. "@mehdi_eff stop teasing us :) Is there gonna be an announcement for the public? Or is it a secret meeting?"
http://twitter.com/Ken1555/status/222342147393855490
Which reassured me a bit and made me think that they will make a public announcement later this week.

So there you go, that's all I got, but I'm pretty sure that they're having a big presentation at Comic-Con. My bets on what they will show? A short tech demo of the Fox Engine, nothing game related, just with random assets. And then, they will show a bunch of goods related to the 25th anniversary (we already know that they're making an orchestral medley CD of the best tracks from the games, and they also teased a Fox Hound bento box). In any cases, I'm excited, and I hope we'll get something new by the end of the week :)

TL;DR:
Kojima promised to showed Fox Engine in July. We're in July, and he's at Comic-con this week with presentation files to show to the world, so GET HYPED :p

No, probably not.

He clearly said during that interview "I will show the Fox Engine in July". And he is going to be at Comic-Con this week, in July, with last minute presentation files from his staff in his bag, ready to be shown to the world... Is it really that much to connect the dots???

Yep, I thought this would be the most clear opportunity to do it this month as I didn't see any mention of KONAMI organizing soon a party similar to the one they made on Tokyo Midtown's The Ritz-Carlton (http://www.1up.com/news/metal-gear-party-report), for the 20th METAL GEAR ANNIVERSARY.

In other news, the release date for that new METAL GEAR 25th ANNIVERSARY METAL GEAR MUSIC COLLECTION (http://www.konamistyle.jp/item/71841) was pushed back to August, 22. Maybe this is an indication of them taking this out while timely coinciding with other announcements or event, like they did with the previous similar product (http://www.konamistyle.jp/item/40348).

There could be something...but for God's sake, don't get hyped. This is 2012, the year of video game disappointment, so you can't really expect anything great, right?

Didn't we already have that?

Sure, it were only about 5 seconds of footage, but after all this time I'd like to see an actual game.

Hail, peons, for I have come as ambassador from the great and bountiful Blueberry Butt Explosion
Kojima showing off a new game makes me giddy in a way no other dev team can duplicate. I really hope he shows it off at SDCC. That would be stellar.

It's time to show a damned game from him indeed. How many years has passed? the last psp game it's just a portable game, I don't even considered it a 'full' game. The hell, those japanese developers are became so sluggish.

Yeah but I'm betting on some new but similar footage. In the same interview where he promised July, he said he wants to show the engine just by itself, at first, so I don't think we're gonna see any real game footage this time.

What's the fox engine and what other game companies will attend comic con?

Fox Engine is Koji-Pro's new engine, which is being sourced out to other Konami studios (PES, for example). It will be multi-platform - 360, PS3, PC, and possibly the Vita. Has been worked on since 2010. Kojima seems to have two projects in development on this engine - Project Ogre, and another. Very few details about either, Ogre is meant to be challenging and controversial to the extent he says it could force him to leave the industry (hyperbole), maybe open world.

It's going to be a disappointment, like the E3.

(still crossing my fingers for a MGS1 HD remake
yes, I am aware that Twin Snakes exists
)

It was on par with Sons of Liberty, if not aesthetically better by a bit.
I would root for a remastering in HD, but not a remake.

Let them focus on Metal Gear Solid 5, and let Bluepoint remaster TWIN SNAKES.
But they cannot unfortunately, as the Twin Snakes belong exclusively to Nintendo.

I'm positive Nintendo will re-release the Twin Snakes remastered in HD on the Wii-U (they missed that chance with Wii, GCN 480P to Wii 480p lol), don't worry, you just need to be a Nintendo consumer as well. And I mean... Well... Who isn't?

Metal Gear Rising and Metal Gear Solid 5 (Or Peace Walker 2, the New Fox Engine is able to run very smoothly on the PSVita) are the future.

I love Hideo, Hideo, Hideo.

Yeah he's been tweeting a bunch of pictures since he got there. Apparently, SCE Latin America organized a party there to celebrate the 25th anniversary. I want one of the T-shirts they were giving away :(

Andriasang posted this:

Metal Gear Solid 4 will get a Trophy patch, according to an interview with Hideo Kojima in this week's Famitsu. The magazine does not reveal a date for the patch, but MGS4 is scheduled to receive a budget release in in August, so the timing could coincide with that.

The interview also reveals that Konami will hold a Metal Gear Solid 25th Anniversary Event on August 30 at Tokyo Midtown (the office complex that houses Konami's main office). There will be some sort of announcement at the this event, Kojima reveals in the interview. This announcement is apparently related to the vision he's previously shared about a game that connects people. Peace Walker's "Transfarring" component served as a test for this vision.

Unlike today's other Famitsu reports, which came from our usual sources, we're not totally sure of the source for this particular report, but we should have confirmation later in the day.

Kojima is going to Comic-con.

Superbot will be showing two new characters at Comic-con.

Yeah, I think a Snake reveal for PSASBR might be quite likely too.

So, it seems that the product release date was a good hint (http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showpost.php?p=39681560&postcount=12). Even then, we may see something before that event on August, 30.

Yeah, based on that Famitsu interview, I'd say there's a high chance he's gonna show his new game in front of the Japanese public, at that August 30th event, but I still want to believe that other interview where he said he wants to show Fox Engine (only) first. And for a tech demo, a global event would have more impact that a Japan-only event IMO, so Comic-Con or Gamescom.

Kojima is going to Comic-con.

Ooooh nice catch! Yeah I'd like that too :)
