I'm having an issue with my controller wherein I can turn it on with the controller but for whatever reason nothing else works. I try to navigate with the stick and press every button and nothing ever register.

Replace battery. Do some console controller reset/setup.

Cany you attach the controller to the console with USB-C cable? Try and see if it works that way, then if you disconnect it and it doesn't work it probably isn't paired or there's and issue with the Bluetooth connection.
