As a has been, he was a better was then most designers have ever been.
Not making a good game since 2008 makes you officially a "has been", Devil's Third messy development and failure both critically and commercially is proof you can have all the vision in the world but it's your staff that makes that vision a reality.
The guy's an ego maniac and i doubt he learned a lesson in these 4 years since DT's failure.

So Kojima and Itagaki are on the same level then?

Just Itagaki has less best friends.

Mgs V came out in 2015 and 4 years later Death Stranding will come out next week.
Regardless of how you personally think of MGSV it was a massive success both critically and commercially, the gameplay was great and the game ran like butter on all consoles, and he never stopped making games, MGS4 (2008), MGS PW (2010), early stages MGR(2013), and his name is still relevant and command a lot of attention and hype.
Which can't be said about Mr. Oatmeal here, so your argumant fall flat on it's face like DT did.

All of Itagakis games equal more then Kojimas so he earned that holiday, and can still come back.

it’s not his fault what Team Nija Dog did to his games.

According to whom? Doa is a joke of the FGC and at best a poor man's Virtua Fighter.
He made 2 good games NG1 and NG2, and as a director has no significance or impact on the gaming landscape unlike Kojima who revolutionized the medium with MG1 and MGS.
Historical revisionism is trualy a plauge.

After devil's third... If you are coming back, come back with a good head on your shoulders this time.

PS. I still respect you for walking out of that Cirque du Solei Kinect bullshit thing that Microsoft was pulling. So I'm giving you a chance.

Who is this guy?

He's a famous Japanese developer, created the Dead or Alive fighting franchise and rebooted Ninja Gaiden on Xbox and Xbox 360. Ninja Gaiden on Xbox is considered to be one of the best action games ever made.

He worked on a title called Devils Third after leaving Tecmo and got fucked around by publishers, ultimately releasing the game after 8 years as Wii U exclusive and it famously bombed really bad in the West. That was 2015 and he kinda went dark after that.

Aside from Devils Third he has a pretty stellar track record.

Yet, it seems like that so called joke of a fighter was responsible for saving Tecmo. Yeah, Doa is misunderstood and ridiculed, but it’s impressive that the franchise is still around.

Hopefully Itagaki is back in game development. He made some of my favorite games of all time. I wish him the best.

I actually like Itagaki for aesthetics, not necessarily for the meat and bones of the game...…...I prefer his artstyle in NG games, it was more organic, better textures, production values......However for the meat of the game I prefer....

Yosuke Hayashi, he was the guy who programmed all the AI. in NG games.......People always praised Itagaki like he made the game himself, but we could see when he was left to his reigns without a good team, that he simply resorted to drinking, smoking and strip clubs all day and wasting the publisher's money.....

If Itagaki comes back, he must get serious and be more humble......and I don't think I want to play any game from Itagaki unless it's a third person slasher......Give it style give it character.......
