I will start with Dishwasher for XBLA, which in my opinion looks visually unappealing and seems like an easy photoshop by some amateur. I know the game is being made by one person, and I don't care if the game is fun or not. It's not what we are talking about. It's visually bad looking, both in still images and videos. At least in my opinion.

(And I just googled for Dishwasher for big images and it was the first result, so it's not like I was specially looking for an ugly pic).

the dishwasher? wtf? That game didn't look bad at all when they had the E3 demo up. Looked fine and played amazingly. It was going to be a community game and got promoted to a full XBLA game because people loved it so much.


But I guess to keep this thread from being a total waste: Any word on when Dishwasher comes out? thought it was supposed to be out last fall.

I think you should have atleast played the game before judging it like that, the demo last year looked great in motion. Do not judge a game that isn't even out yet from a blurry YouTube video clip.

I've seen the Atari pull off better visuals, and with much better IQ.

Compare that steaming pile to this, and I don't understand what the Nintendo circle-jerks are for.

Have all the fun you want, Wii owners, but you're this generations Virtual Boy, and once the consumers move on to the next toy to catch there eye, the big boys with the real graphics will once again take the stage and save this industry.

80%-90% of games in general imo, not just next gen titles. The truly special, visually brilliant titles are more often than not not exactly the outrageous in complexity; just very well presented.

It might be FUN to play, I don't care about that, and in this thread we don't discuss that kind of stuff. We are talking about UGLY games. No matter the amount of technology used to create them. Games like Zelda for SNES are visually nice to look at. Stuff like this Dishwasher game with photoshop filters that anyone out there could do in 5 minutes are UGLY as shit.

lol are you for real? Have you played SMG? I've completed both games and both are visually superb in many areas. I like SMG for the fact it's visually are relatively simple but the level designs intrigue me due to how abstract they are.

no, they just need better animation to go with the sharp art. It's like with Odin Sphere and Muramasa; both games look great in screens, but they have such weird animation to them and it makes everything look disconnected. Same case with Guilty Gear and the older KoF footage (new stuff looks way better.) Street Fighter 3 and Wario Land Wii (sans backgrounds) are more impressive than those games because they have some amazing fidelity in their movements.
