Game has been balanced and plays much better than the original release. Characters don't seem to have as many "invencible" frames after being knocked down as before.

Oh, and this won't be getting a Japanese release. Not yet, at least.

Is that confirmed or just speculation?
Confirmed. They don't know which will be out yet, though, so they're not talking about the roster.

Whoa, this is mind-blowing for me. I was just telling someone about how much I wanted this. Right on the verge of importing it until now. Just hoping that there's some kind of physical release, even if they have to release it sans-booklet like JoJo's Bizarre Adventure.

I can't believe this is coming. My actual interest in the game was minimal but I was on board to buy this day 1 just to reward namco for bringing over such a licensing nightmare.

I then looked at the gameplay saw it didn't look bad, and saw it had a decent looking story mode and now am actually looking forward to playing this.

Do you know what else has been changed?
I've only played like 2 hours of the original release because I thought it was awful, so I couldn't possibly notice any other balance changes from my short time with the demo.

The "invencible" frames thing could be placebo too, because it was something I noticed, not something the devs said themselves.

Not all characters from the Japanese version will be in this.

Little confused by this. If they're definitely making changes but they don't know which one it will be, it makes it sound like they have some freedom to pick who gets the boot. Does that mean multiple characters are under dispute and they can only resolve so many?

I think characters like Taro Yamada and Luckyman would cause the least fuss if dropped, but they're also not likely to be disputed.

Well, if they remove character because of licensing problems, could they add more characters from series they do have the license for as compensation?

I'm happy if Dio Brando / DIO makes it in.

That would require extra resources and time, I don't think they plan to develop new characters just for this release. I'll happily eat crow if I'm proven though.

If someone needs to be removed, please let it be Taro Yamada.

i think most of us think that due to Tatsunoko vs capcom being the odd ball in that field. but that game is like this, an exception to the rule, not the norm.

If anyone's wondering, they did not show the new JoJo game to the Western press.

Well, if I had to guess, at least the characters in the promo made the cut.

This means that Joesph's still in, meaning I still will probably buy this game.
They specifically mentioned to not look at that poster as indicative of anything. These characters may or may not be in.

He's there.
Yeah, just saw him to the left of the Haikyū!! kid.

Hopefully, it'll be like Tatsunoko Vs. Capcom & it'll be the character that was the most obscure....so perhaps Taro Yamada, because not even freakin' Wikipedia knows about him or his series.

It seems that way, yeah. They've mentioned that there are still "many months" before the planned release date (which, officially, is just a broad "2015" for now), so they may end up resolving some of the issues.

Well, it's just a waiting game at this point then. Here's hoping that my favorites will manage to stay in.

Well, it's been 9 months since its original release and it won't release until summer 2015. Why would they need that much time, anyway? Nonetheless, I'm not sure how hard it may be to port a game to a better console, nor if they spend that time getting those license approvals, but it neither of those are the case, I bet they've been working on new things - besides Arcade Mode.
