not bad, seems like a moderate hit in line with what nintendo might have assumed, if a little on the lower end of predictions maybe, but it will on depend on legs after now, hopefully the little dogs can make it past mario and wario at the very least...

8. DS Touch! Kirby - Nintendo - 16,000 (178,000)
9. GC Fire Emblem Souen no Kiseki - Nintendo - 13,000 (138,000)

Kirby + Fire Emblem got legs!

2. DS Naruto Saikyou Ninja Daikesshu 3 for DS - Tomy - 30,000 (147,000)
4. DS nintendogs Shiba & friends - Nintendo - 27,000 (141,000)
5. DS nintendogs Dachs & friends - Nintendo - 19,000 (92,000)
6. DS nintendogs Chihuahua & friends - Nintendo - 18,000 (82,000)

Hopefully people realise that 3rd-party titles do sell on the DS. (as well as all Nintendo handhelds - go figure ...)

Otherwise, go dogs, go!

This is getting boring. We need Oogami to come in here and say Nintendogs isn't doing too hot so he can get flamed and we can all have a good laugh. People all agreeing is BORING! :D

Romancing SaGa sold more than all Nintendogs put together this week.
That sucks :(

Romancing SaGa is at the same total sales figure as Nintendogs' total too, if it outsells Nintendogs again next week..... BOMBA! :lol

Isn't Romancing Saga like really shitty? That's what I've heard from several people who's opinions I trust. I was gonna pick it up and they all advised me against it...

Can someone find out if the Japanese DS would work with the upcoming US Online Network?
I thought all machines were exactly the same hardware. I guess we'll find out sooner or later.

Moderate hit? :lol

Very expected chart, btw.

The impressions I've seen on Japanese message boards are mostly positive. User reviews on sites like psmk2.net have been rather positive as well.

This only tells me that Japanese like ugly dogs. Why aren't they buying the one with the King Charles Spaniel, the Lab and the Beagle? I swear people hate beautiful dogs. They instead like those damn little rats, or the ones where their face has been smashed in by a wall.

I always thought the Japanese loved Makatoushi/Romancing and hated Frontier/Unlimited as far as SaGa's concerned? Didn't the WSC remakes do pretty well too?

Nintendo should just release a "sleek" looking DS: SP next year. Pokemon will take care of them in 2005, so no need to go to extremes this year. A sleek design will take them a long way in this handheld war, especially if they want to lure in a larger portion of the mainstream audience who's enamored with the PSP mainly for its looks.

SaGa is a huge franchise in Japan, though they also digged Frontier (the first game being one of the most popular PS1 games ever in Japan). So it's not surprising that the remake is doing fairly well, although I really would rather play a remake of Romancing SaGa 2, which is the best SaGa game IMO.

DS is doing incredible in Japan lately, which of course is great. It's especially good when you remember the ridicule and the photoshopped GBA SPs with ten screens. It's now in the running to be a really great console... online could mark a turning of the corner for Nintendo and the lineup is looking better and better.

But lets not kid ourselves. ~30k to ~40k is still very impressive, and it remains to be seen if Nintendo can be just as incredible in various parts of the west.

I'm hoping for great things on DS at E3. I don't know what to expect, I wanna be blown away.

30-40K a week for PSP

Software sales next to nothing

Obvious people aren't using the PSP for its intended gaming purpose which sony needs to make money back.
This is Why Nintendo don't put media on their handhelds and sell it seperate. It takes sales away from the unit

Definitely doesn't make things up as he goes along.
9. GC Fire Emblem Souen no Kiseki - Nintendo - 13,000 (138,000)

Is that really even good?
I mean, that is almost a 90% drop from when it first debuted, and that was only like 2 weeks ago...

They gotta be a little dissapointed.
It isnt even going to Reach RE4 or Kirby at this rate.

You do realize that PSP has a better tie ratio than DS in Japan, right? These recent good software sales will help DS out a lot I reckon, but uh... your logic fails :p
