It's not for kids :(
It's for anyone... it's to stretch/soften your brain. Totally different style of puzzles than the other one.

Wow, when did Nintendogs come out in Japan?
Ok. You are junior member, so you are forgiven for not knowing (otherwise would be sacrilege). Nintendogs came out on 21st of April. It was a big day for Nintendo, but also a big day for GAF, since all haterz went crazy seeing it explode. Which boosted DS sales and crushed PSP. :)

Ruzbeh I think he was just asking for when it was actually released. I think he knew that it was released but not when.

I don't think he did know that it was out, Junior. Still, not knowing when, for shame! Like I said, it was a good day for GAF. :D

the brain training games are selling really well. if kawasima did another 30,000 ish they account for over 50% of the ds games sold that week.

No, not yet. The tie-ratio is around 1.85:1 at the moment for the DS, although that is going up every week. This week the tie-ratio is over 4.5:1. So its on the way to catching up to the GBA which is around 3-3.5:1.

This next week has no new DS games and one psp game: School Rumble: Neesan Jiken desu. The week after has no psp releases and Naruto RPG 2 for the DS. The week after that the DS kicks ass with Rockman, Yugioh and Full Metal Alchemist. Although the psp is ok too with Tenchi no Mon, Star Soldier and Doraslot II. Should be a good month, although it looks like Brain Training is going from strength to strength. The first one opened at 45K, this one opens with 60K..

So if you are right the Media Create sales should be around 38,000 for the DS, and 22,000 - 23,000 for the PSP.

What did the PSP get any new releases this week? I think Fist of the North Star got released, but what else was? Also I think that the PS2 will beat the DS in Hardware sales for the first time in over a month.

Finally!!

Atamajuku at No.2!!! Rejoice!!! I must get this game...

Another good week for the so called "non-games" on the DS. Nice hardware numbers too.

So the 2 brain training games combined to make almost 100k? Incredible.

And by next week, they most likely will have combined to outsell the top selling PSP game LTD.

Some numbers: (Media Create)

This week/This year/LTD

DS: 35,083 / 1,071,450 / 2,567,046
PSP: 21,901 / 1,000,071 / 1,482,323

So, the PSP hit a million units for 2005, but the DS keeps increasing its lead week-by-week. The DS has now won 11 weeks in a row, and 14 of the last 15 weeks. That's pretty much 4 straight months of domination, especially with software sales taken into account as well. And the DS now has a LTD lead of 1,084,723, which is its biggest lead ever.

I'll leave the more technical analysis like meet-up dates and graphs and stuff to Joshua because he does such an awesome job every week!

The DS sales train keeps on rolling along! This is starting to get boring now, heh.

Will the DS break 40k again? Will anyone really care? :lol

The DS owns Japan, and it really does seem like the fight against the PSP is coming to a close there. Nothing to see here, move along now. It's OK, PSP, you're doing alright in these parts. Buck up 'till November! *HUG* And neo is right, there's always the porn for when the PSP owners get bored on the Shinkansen or something.

PSP is still selling a decent amount with no new good games coming out.

DS is selling well because of non games.

Why are people happy?

I looked, but I couldn't find it anywhere :(

Is that because you didn't look in the right places or because all the shops stocking it managed to sell out? Kind of like Sony, heh.
