New Keyakizaka song is... not good. Sounds very generic, and I feel it could have been released by any of the 48 groups. I need Keyakizaka to deliver the drama. A waste of a neat concept with the suits too.

I don't like it as much as Silent Majority, Futari Saison and Fukyouwaon but still dig it a lot. Better than Sekai ni wa Ai Shika Nai for instance (which is still cool) if we're limiting ourselves to the singles.
I'm happy they have a dancey tune like that actually, cause it's a bit unusual for them (though you can find a lot of more traditional idol tracks as their b-sides/on the album.)
I guess their singles tend to have an epic/dramatic/serious feel (it's not the right word but you get what I mean), but it doesn't mean they will always stick to that.

Only disappointing thing is that they're not wearing the suits for Keyakitte Kakenai :'(
Guess it's the uniform the b-side

Speaking of which, here it is (radio rip)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BxL1APS86lQ
More in line with what you'd expect maybe. I find the chorus a bit weak, rest of the song is cool though. I'm sure it'll grow on me.

The thing about Namie...

Her older music is SO dated. Most of it is unlistenable.
She gets great after "Wishing on the same star"
She loves using english in her songs but she's so bad at it...
Her highs are VERY high, like, her signature songs are all awesome
Her live shows are look so low-budget

She's a legend, but I just can't stan her.

The only thing slightly agreeable about this post is her bad English.

I still jam to her stuff from the 90's, and she had some great songs in her R&B era (even if they don't get any play these days).

And wtf makes her lives so low-budget? Because she doesn't engage in theatrics and pyrotechnics? I'll take her straight performances any day.

The stages are nonexistent. The outfits are basic. The lights are uninspired.

Momoiro Clover remains the coolest narrative in the idol biz, mixing up stadium tours with singer songwriter albums.

Oh sweet, Yabai T-Shirts Ya San will make an appearance on Polkadot Stingray's debut album, they're in charge of the "loud voice" for one of the songs (Polkadot Stingray's first joke track) lol

Pretty good picks for the 2018 edition of the Space Shower Retsuden tour
They often choose artists that just became major/get signed soon after, always a good opportunity to discover the current hot acts. Ivy to Fraudulent Game are already signed with Victor and will release their debut album in December. Saucy Dog might be the next in line (with A-Sketch maybe).
Really got into Ivy to Fraudulent Game lately.

lol you don't need smoke and mirrors when her performances are so captivating. Namie's never had extravagant stages or lighting (although, she has had some) because that's not what she's about.

The "basic" outfits are for comfort more than anything when she's dancing 24/7. I hate to sound so defensive and stan-like but she's the main event at her concerts, not the stages and lighting. it's not a Perfume concert.

Namie concerts are definitely weaker generally, but they are also jam packed with songs and dancing. PLAY and Best Fiction’s live shows were probably her most show-y concerts, but even those are very song-focused. It’s very much like, “you came to see me sing, so here I am,” which has an interesting sense of purity?

The downside is that those live recordings don’t always end up great. If Namie gets tired, there isn’t a backing track to pick up lines and there are plenty of shows where she clearly is pushing herself too far. Best Fiction had a little of that as did Live Style 2011 iirc.

Also RIP live bands

Well, I got Monoeyes right lol

I'm so freaking excited for this, and it's not even the full list yet.
Really wonder what we'll get given their massive (and incredible) library.
My wishlist :
Monoeyes - Rocksteady
My Hair is Bad - The Remains
Asian Kung-Fu Generation - Magic Blue Van
Acidman - Lightning
back number - Synchro
the pillows - Little Miss Weekend
The Back Horn - Dead Head Beat
go!go!vanillas - Donkey Boogie Dodo
9mm Parabellum Bullet - Tornado Surfer
Special Others is a tough one since they're mostly instrumental lol

To be fair most of them were impossible to guess. ^^ The LINE replay live should be available soon.

I'm really happy about this what i just listened. Only could have one more female singer artist like yonige, POLKADOT STINGRAY or SCANDAL.

Yeah I can see that, but all the artists are close friends with the members, dunno if the three bands you mentioned fit the bill (I could be wrong of course)

DAOKO is on a roll this year

Yah, still listening to that collab with Yonezu Kenshi almost everyday.
Hopefully an album is around the corner. Gotta take advantage of that great year for her.

Speaking of Yonezu Kenshi, one of the guests for his upcoming album has been revealed.
Actress/model Ikeda Elaiza will be on the track "fogbound". She has a pretty nice voice actually. 1 other guest remains unknown.

MAN WITH A MISSION 『Find You』
Their ballads are surprisingly always great.

More details about the Keyakizaka46 single have been revealed, who's singing what.
Title track and 避雷針 by the kanji members.
それでも歩いてる by the original hiragana members, NO WAR in the future is hiragana too but it also features the 9 new members.
結局、じゃあねしか言えない by the Ishimori/Oda/Saitou/Satou/Habu unit (五人囃子)
波打ち際を走らないか? by the Shida/Sugai/Watanabe Rika/Watanabe Risa/Moriya unit (青空とMARRY)
再生する細胞 is a solo Imaizumi

Hyped for the new 青空とMARRY, my favorite unit of the bunch. I loooove 割れたスマホ and 青空が違う.

Listening to fripSide's new album Crossroads currently, and I'm liking it a lot so far. Anyone else here listened to it yet? I don't see any mention of it here.

I blame you guys. I started listening to 欅坂46. I really like that 不協和音 song. I recall finding Silent Majority to be very catchy when seeing it play on big screens around Tokyo. Many of the other songs kinda bore me, but there are definitely a few cool ones.
rolling right down that hill
Thank you.

Hell yeah, one of us.

4 new hiragana members appeared on Keyakitte Kakenai yesterday, they were all pretty funny, especially Tomita who did a rap for Sawabe lol
Didn't care much for the hiragana team but they actually have some potential. Wish they got more TV time. Maybe that'll happen now that they have more members.
I wouldn't be surprised if Kageyama and Kyoko become the first ones to join the main line-up, whenever that happens, they're the 2 standouts.

Oh damn, new Boku no Lyric no Bouyomi album on November 22nd

Will be his last album as a teenager, since he's turning 20 in a couple of months.
Only 8 songs (and 2 of them were on his most recent single), but hey, he released another album in January, which is a top 10 album of 2017.

Yeah so they actually filmed a part at Shuukan Bunshou (the magazine that did the Enon/Becky story), cause a writer saw the short PV, then offered to do something lol

A bit old (like, 2-3 weeks old), but Gesu appeared on a Matsuko show recently, and Enon came out with a cool impro in just 10 minutes lol

I think this is the first time I laughed at a song. Both at the コポゥ noise Enon made, and ちゃんMARI saying "Enon-pyon, shikarishite" at the end

I thought you considered grown at 18, or is it different in Japan. What his previous work sound like? I need to listen to more Japanese shit for this year.

You're an adult in Japan at age 20.

That's changing soon though. Early next decade they will switch to 18. Wonder if that will lower the drinking age too ;)

Fuuuuck this is such a good song. Loving the melody, the lyrics, and the contrast of their voices. Damn.
Guaranteed to be a hit, 2017 has been a good year for my boy Yonezu between his own singles, his collab with Daoko, and now this one for his new album.
