Persona 2 protagonists being so low automatically makes this list bullshit. Atlus should remake persona 2 with persona 3/4 gameplay.

I haven't. And it is definitely possible, after it was around P3 that the series took off and then the manga and anime adaptations/spin-offs sprung up.

That's called a character flaw. Humans have these things called emotions that effect them throughout their life, especially if an individual has been subject to events they deem as being traumatic experiences. However, I guess if your idea of what a good character is stems from Scooby-Doo then that would be easy to mistake as being a bad thing.
Nah, played with JP voices, she still sucked.
Yukari is a well written character but she's isn't remotely likeable as a result.

Remember that Japan has an animated series where Yu is an actual character. Also that a huge percentage of the fanbase (for Persona 4, at least) is female.
Don't really know who they asked, since I don't know anyone whos big on Yosuke, but I'm sure the anime (and expanded media) has a lot to do with Persona 4 characters being as prevalent.

PSX Persona is still the best selling one in the series, but everyone who played has disappeaaaaared apparently.

Charlie at #1? Yeesh. I think my favorite from the RPGs are Rise and Mitsuru. Though my favorites in P4A are Aigis and Liz.
Well, lots of the people who played P1 and P2 back in the day probably don't mesh with modern Persona.
I didn't like her, maybe it was her voice.
I can't take any list seriously that doesn't have Elizabeth in the top three.

So you just dislike half the characters.
Fuuka was bland, but not offensively bland like Yukiko who had a shoehorned 'endearing character trait' that was just annoying.
