I doubt they knew and I really doubt they kept it from her but she's trying to get answers and I can't fault her for that. The burden he placed on her is unimaginable.

As if I needed a reason other than the lousiest sandwiches on Earth not to eat there.

Disgusting food, and seemingly disgusting company.

ETA- the story i heard was that the only reason he went to subway in the first place was because it was the closest place to his dorm/living area.

er, wasn't it like 4 miles way? And that's why he lost the weight - because each trip to Subway to get a 6 inch sub, dry, was like almost 10 miles for him?

That's different than what I heard. What I heard years ago was that the subway was literally downstairs from the dorm and he basically looked at porn in his room with his only breaks was to go downstairs to subway.

I heard this years and years ago. Your story sounds possible too.

Que the endless posts about how "random local sandwich place no one had heard of is better".

Pretty fucked up if her claims are true. Probably foolish to hope for some criminal action to be taken on the execs.

Looked it up and it's a combination of the two - he lived right next to a subway, but walked 6 miles a day, and stopped at subway at the end of his walk.

It was cool when it was 5$ foot longs, but now that the prices have risen, there are much better sandwich spots that are pretty much the same price.

In NorCal, Mr pickles for example is superior in every way and you get a free cookie with purchase

As someone who works in a small sandwich/cheese shop right across from Mr. Pickles, fuck those guys. Every time I've had their sandwiches, I've had digestive issues.

We did have a Jersey Mike's come in and try to amp up the competition, but many who tried theirs came back over to complain to us how crap they are in comparison to us. They eventually folded, good riddance! We need other food in this town, but I digress.

Also our sandwiches are a million times better anyway!

It's not surprising a big corporate entity would support their talent until the situation was given mass attention. Seems to happen all the time in football, sadly.

I still don't get the popularity of this chain. It's garbage.

Getting "fresh" fast food was and still is the big hook for them, at least going by my surroundings here in Germany. Fast food over here means Doener or McDonald's. Subway is this great beacon of fresh and "healthy" fast food. Of course that's nonsense but some people still believe it.

I've always suspected this since this all started, which is why I haven't eaten there since. Never getting any money from me again

I actually don't get why people use such strong words for their sandwiches. My main gripe is that they are bland and don't pack a lot of taste but I wouldn't say they taste terrible. The only thing I eat their anymore is there tuna.

I remember the last few times, when I was still stuffing that crap down my throat, distinctly saying to myself "not a single part of this sandwich is fresh". Everything, from the bread to the lettuce and tomatoes, tasted soft and gross. That happened more often than not.

It's kind of ridiculous that a company can just slap a motto around and not be expected to stand behind it, at all.

How about talking to the police instead of going to corporate

.

It's stated in the article: it's her word vs. a well-known, manufactured "All-American Boy" with millions of dollars, and an even bigger company backing him up. Even if she had video footage of him in the act, it wasn't going anywhere.

It's disgusting what people will sweep under the rug in the name of money. I can't believe all these people won't do the ethical thing so they can keep their pay checks rolling in.

Money buys lots of eyes turning and there are seemingly a lot of people with money who indulge in a similar lifestyle. The whole Jeffrey Epstein case shows just how bad it gets.

Feeling pretty good about having not stepped foot in a Subway since this blew up. They can go to hell.

Yup used to eat Subway maybe twice a week, even more in university. Haven't been back since this news broke.

Why does Subway owe her a check?

McLaughlin’s lawsuit—which lists her two children as plaintiffs—accuses Subway of negligence, invasion of privacy through misappropriation of likeness, and intentional infliction of emotional distress, among other alleged violations.

Can you be any more dismissive to a burden-ridden ex wife of a child molester, and show any empathy for her and what she has endured? Do you think Subway owes her an explanation for why they stood behind their pitchman despite allegedly knowing of his illegal and destructive behaviour? Did you read the article? Didn't see any mention of her asking for money. She wants information, on the record, and wants to find out if they knew before the news broke and whether they withheld information.
