Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn will stand down if he does not win power at the next general election, his close ally John McDonnell has said.
The shadow chancellor told GQ magazine he "can't see" how Mr Corbyn could stay on if he lost for a second time.
But Mr McDonnell ruled himself out as a successor, saying the next leader should be a woman.

Well that's Labour not going to get into power any time soon!

Good, he's unelectable. The Labour Party are a joke right now, if they had anything going for them they would steam roller the tories. Our politics is pretty pathetic at the moment.
This. I like him but the whole thing has run its course. He'll never be elected in this country.

About fucking time.
I don't hate Corbyn as much as some but it's clear that the public are not behind him and he is pretty much unelectable.

He's had plenty of time now as well. Give someone else a chance to lead the Labour party. We are in desperate need of a new government.

With the shitshow we have had over the past five years, the fact that corbyn hasnt been elected, says he never will be.

From cameron the cunt, may the muddled and boris the brexiteer, labour should have snatched victory, hand over fist, at every turn.

They haven't because corbyn is a cunt.

Someone should start sending him retirement home brochures then.

The way he's basically mishandled the entire Brexit situation has just been pretty lamentable. This whole stalling tactic is just a massive misfire that is going to bite Labour come the next GE because all the public see is PMs essentially trying to usurp the referendum. The results of the MEP election alone should have been an indicator as to the way the wind blows when it comes to the wider public sentiment beyond the Twitterverse.

He should have stepped down last year he won’t get into No.10 if he faces Boris. Labour picking up more seats in ‘17 was because Theresa May was unpopular.

The problem is I don’t think their are many in Labour’s ranks that could lead them to victory, RBL could potentially do well but depends on Labours position on Brexit at the time. Out of all the parties they have the most confusing Brexit stance.
