For a blogpost about calling out her assaulter, the majority of what she pens is about how much of a nightmare she is to work with.
If it's the one I read yesterday she gives no details about the alleged Rape at all which is strange considering the essay was volumes long. It was basically one giant sob story about how reality hits and you get into the real world and have to work overtime and employers try to financially screw over contractors and not pay them. But it's more than enough for it's intended target audience, Era have already swallowed to hook line and sinker without a shred of proof.

It's definitely different (and therefore a whole other class of better) than ERA in that way, but he's still correct about the reaction to opposing views being pretty horrid. I miss the good ol' days.
Like I said to you way back in this thread, I enjoyed our opposing opinions and fully encourage people with opposite opinions to post on here, I don't want it to be a pile on and don't want people scared to voice their opinions.

You weren't here for the "good old days" mate. Shit was already starting to go south long before 2013.

Also I'll respond to your previous response to me later when I have a bit of time, there's a lot to dissect.

On the other hand, been called all sorts of things in the process :D

I actually received a PM as a result of my posts, whose privacy I will respect of course, but which basically said that they had been apprehensive of posting opposing views because of the hostile environment, and felt encouraged by my posts. So the hostility is quite real, but thanks for not contributing to it :)

This place did have a wider variety of viewpoints before tho. I'm sad that even our gaming forums are polarized.

They were "good" and "ol'" to me. I lurked for years before then, like 2005-2006 or whatever, I still remember coming here after hearing about leaks from that "crazy butt" person, I forget his name. And it took like months to even join after I decided to back in the day. I'm not much of a poster despite the high activity in the past 2 days.

The one thing you have to learn about gaf is that you can express your opinion and the worst that can happen is someone calling you a soyboy or some shit lol and even that doesn't happen very often. More often the wildly opposing party just ignores you and the people discussing with you mostly have a genuin interest to do so. You wont get banned or harassed (at least it never happened to me). On the other hand if your opinion is shitty people will call you out, but that's life :D

From the article:
Eventually he started to indirectly threaten my position at work, saying things like “It’s me or bust.” Jeremy was close friends with the CEO, and the CEO (my boss) would speak highly of him.
I was afraid of losing my job, and he knew how desperate I was because I shared with him that I didn’t know what I would do if this didn’t work out. I didn’t want to jeopardize this job so I was afraid of rejecting him and tried to keep the friendship.
As things went on, he started to become more misogynistic and sexist.
He talked about the mystical power women hold over men with sex. How men are helpless and they need sex. How he needs sex, and a relationship, so he can write his music.
He talked about how composing is sexual, and how he will write about sex as inspiration in his music. He talked about how performing music is very sexual. He wrote songs about women that he had relationships with this way. What he does to women, is what inspires his music.
The work he composed for video games is based on this. He “needs women to inspire him”… there was so much of this, very uncomfortable inappropriate stuff (inappropriate even for friends), and it kept getting darker and darker.
He made advances on me and I explained that I didn’t want this and wanted a friendship. He was very threatening, and didn’t listen. He made it clear that it’s “him or bust”.
He raped me.
Throughout this time Jeremy acted like a victim, and blamed women he was in relationships with (or forced relationships on) for what he was doing.
I think people are jumping the gun (RE especially) because it fits "the narrative" a lot of people want to subscribe to. The above passage is how she articulates the alleged assault. There one more mention further down but it has even less details then this one. Any reasonable individual reading this should require more facts before attempting to condemn the accused of being a rapist and ruining his life. I get the burden of proof being on the victim makes a traumatic situation even worse than it already is, but that's why it's important to report it to the authorities when it happened and not wait years later when a whole host of variables will diminish the credibility of the accusation. Hopefully more information can come to out and allow the truth to be evident, but if this is all we're going to get, I'm firmly in the camp of innocent until proven guilty.

Seriously, go nest up in pedoERA if you love your opinions being paraded so much. Been called something is nothing, it’s normal and you apparently did the same. Just live with your parents if you want to be shielded from the so called ‘hostility’.

I hope the one who PM’ed you should realize what a needless thing to be apprehensive about. This is not ERA at all. Go fuck someone else like anyone cares. Speak your mind up.

Women as a whole have to start to realize how dangerous this kind of behaviour can become to future rape victims. Women should ostracize the shit out of woman would lied about rape and admitted it!! If I ever knew a person like that I'm sure as hell would tell my piece of mind and then goodbye get the fuck out of my circle.
Rape nowadays is now used so casually that it starts to lose impact of the minds of people, even though rape is one of the worst things a human being can do to another human being.
I don't know if she speaks the truth or not but never even trying to pursue legal actions seems fishy as fuck. Especially in todays clima or even 10 years ago if the police would have done nothing and she looses her job, well there are enough organisation for women who help out.
I'm really sad how so many women use rape as means of manipulation, this are the worst kind of women and I'm really a bit afraid because of the actions of the minority of crazy women , mens perception of women will change for the worse. There are already enough places on the internet were men talk about women as if all woman can't be trusted and are slut ect. And I kinda can understand this line of thinking but who knows were this is ending.
In our societies the good men won over the bad men and that why all of us have so much freedoms, what will happen if that is changing?

I think you forgot to add "unless you are a rape victim".
Unless you're accusing someone of rape, doesn't have clear evidences, and most importantly doesn't REPORT. I'll say as many time as you want.

Go report then go wild on Twitter for all I care. Just do both.

It's so easy to feel 'oppressed' nowadays, god.

If you are a victim, you should use the appropriate channels always to make sure justice is brought upon those.

Twitter is not that place.

If you do decide to use Twitter or other Social as that place, you better be ready for the backlash, because there aren’t as stringent rules to follow there.

The civil court won’t be so civil.

Are you applying this to people who have actually been raped, or only to people who are making false allegations?Because if it's the former, you are basically threatening rape victims with backlash for sharing their story because they aren't following your idea of some sort of proper procedure.

Interesting how people like Rhysser always forget that 🙄
I wouldn't strain my eye rolling muscles over this too hard if I were you. Since it's actually not "alleged" in my example that he's quoted. That example specifically states that it's only about people who have actually been raped, not about something else.

Yeah, you are right.

I don’t even know how to respond to this. If your Social media is your first concern after being violated, that’s on you, nobody else.

If you can’t or don’t understand your rights as a human in the real world, then I don’t know what else to say.

Don’t worry, watching you twist and squirm as you try to make a ton of excuses for your warped views has been very enjoyable.

That's me, spreading joy wherever I go! Though, given your claim, I do find it strange that your tone is consistently that of someone about to have an aneurysm. Try some :messenger_grinning: emojis maybe.

And to the complete surprise of nobody, "She can't remember". Which was entirely predictable when the whole story was "He was creepy to me over dinner" *Scene missing* "He raped me". That's it. Team #Metoo gaming edition know she would not stand up to any cross examination so they sent her out first to "Inspire" Zoe Quinn who can bullshit.

She'll be sidelined for one of the many "Victims that have also come forward". Hold on, let me find that tweet reply...

That first reply when I saw it was just 3 hours old. These 4 women are working together to create a narrative that there's a "Whole lotta rapein" going on in the games industry. Then they are going to cash in with the consultancy and talks.

When I step back and look at situations like this from a bit further out and try and put myself in both sides of this situation, ( even being male I am still human), I see the need for women or a male for that matter to report these types of incidences relatively quickly even when proof may be hard to show, it still sets a precedent that they felt something inappropriate happened and hopefully the correct action by the law or even legal counsel would have a better chance of getting to the bottom of it as it is a recent incident and relevant evidence may be found easier.

On the other side, I try and put myself in that position as well, if I was this Jeremy Soule, and I felt I am being inappropriately accused out in the open for something I did not commit that could have career damaging possibilities, my first call is to a lawyer to possibly file the largest possible defamation claim against that person as vehemently as I could, even if there is no chance of it making an impact, it again sets the precedent that this is bullshit and I am not allowing this to happen to me.

At the end of the day, each of us must take steps no matter what side we fall on to protect ourselves via the proper channels, even if those proper channels fail us it helps set the precedent that something inappropriate happened that I am uncomfortable with and I am taking the best available legal recourse action to defend myself, on both sides.

Did you guys read her actual blogpost and tried to figure out the actual rape evidence? I tried to read that and I couldn't find the evidence.

So each one of you guys who are believing in a serious accusation such as rape help me find out when and how the rape happened because all I could find there was a person who couldn't tell the boss to go to hell when all he was doing was to ask her for more work while she was not being fully paid in return.

And we should automatically believe the accuser? Rape is a very serious accusation and I'm tired of we should just believe the woman coming forward every single time without hard evidence.

There should be a new law created that jails people for saying this on Twitter without any proof. Just for a couple of years or so.
Would rather see false accusers outfitted with a non-removable chastity belt so they can remain productive without the ability to cry wolf. Poetic justice to boot.

Or is it?

This "I have everything to lose, and nothing to gain" excuse is such a crock.

First of all the blog sets out a case for WHY she would feel vengeful and aggrieved (just the business dealings are enough) and bringing this to light now, via trial by social media in the whole #BelieveWomen climate, makes her bulletproof.

This shit is way better than revenge porn, because thanks to the fucked-up lionization of victimhood at this time, she gets praised for her bravery!

That's your opinion. (y) I strongly disagree.
Sure, but he's no John Williams of video games as he likes to claim.

Michael Giacchino started off as a video game composer and is now a huge film composer. So not even in the same league of what Mr Soule has done, which is good work, but not amazing.

Should always go through the correct channels for this.

As someone said at the beginning, this kind of mud sticks whether it's true or not. There needs to be due process before people are named for such terrible things.

They've essentially destroyed this man's life in a single Tweet.

In (UK) Law I'm hugely surprised that defendants aren't granted anonymity in such cases.

But clearly, Michael Giacchino's work is very much a continuation of John Williams, and therefore not really original. Jeremy Soule's work has its own distinct sound. Not saying Michael Giacchino's music is bad, on the contrary, being a fan since the first Medal of Honor.

Again, it's not their fault the mob does what it does
It is when they go up to the mob (and no one else) and yell “hey, this guy’s a rapist!”

She knows full well what’s going to happen as a result of that twitter thread, and it is grossly irresponsible for you to attempt to absolve her of responsibility for that.

Before I never wanted to talk about this, but now #metoo has given me the confidence to speak up about my sexual harassment at the hands of Neogaf user R Rhysser last sunday. He sent me horrid, sexually aggressive messages demanding I send nudes, and verbally abusing me when I refused to do so.

This whole ordeal has made me incredibly emotionally distraught, so you should support me by donating to my kickfundme page.

He wasn't really that great of a composer and he hasn't been doing anything in the business for a long time.
Say what you want about Soule's music, but this track is perfection.

It's still mIssing some blogpost link with some rambling about something which has little to nothing to do with the sexual harassment, miss. Also you need to post that in Twiiter. to make it more "believable".
