I see a lot of outpouring of support on internet websites like reddit for Joan Rivers. "She was a comedian and said crazy things" seems to be her overall impression. But in my view she was also a cunt, and does not deserve the support and love she is getting. Here's why:
1. She went on a rant and said Palestinians deserved to be dead.
When told of the rising death toll among the Palestinian population, she said good, adding: Who cares?
They were told to get out. They didnt get out. You dont get out, you are an idiot.
At least the ones that were killed were the ones with low IQs.
The Gaza conflict has cost the lives of 1,886 Palestinians including more than 400 children and displaced over 520,000 Palestinians, according to the latest UN figures.
She also said Gazans need a nose job
The American-Arab Anti-Discrimination Committee said in a statement that Rivers is a prime example of media actors either encouraging or obliging the dehumanization of the Palestinian people. Her comments, in which she also says that all Palestinians should get nose jobs, make light of and intend to degrade the humanitarian crisis of which the Palestinians are victims.
2. She made a joke about Holocaust with regards to Heidi Klum's dress in 2013
Rivers is no stranger to controversy. In March 2013 she refused to apologize for a joke she made about the dress "Project Runway" host Heidi Klum wore to the Academy Awards.
"The last time a German looked this hot was when they were pushing Jews into the ovens," Rivers said while appearing on the E! channel's "Fashion Police" show.
3. She said Barack Obama is gay, and called Michelle Obama a transvestite.
The comedian known for her lack of self-censoring recently officiated a same-sex wedding and was asked by a photographer if she believed the United States would ever see the first gay or female president. Her response was typical Rivers.
"We already have it with Obama, so let's just calm down," she said. "You know Michelle (Obama) is a trans."
When asked to further explain Rivers said, "A transgender. We all know it."
4. She chastised Ariel Castro's victims (guy who held 3 women captive for a decade)
"They got to live rent free for more than a decade . . . One of them has a book deal. Neither are in a psych ward. They're OK. I bet you within three years one of them will be on Dancing with the Stars."
5. She 'joked' about insulting all ethnic and gender groups.
Joan: What do I think about Alec [Baldwin]? Everybody just relax. Everybodys either a w*p, a n###a, a k!ke, a ch%nk, a f@iry, a m$ck everybodys something so why dont we all just. Calm. Down.
TMZ: And we should be thankful for you.
Joan : Be thankful that were all living in America and stop everybody getting so damn uptight! And this goes for the Indians both dot and feather!
...and many more. We (not neogaf in particular), should remember this harpy as who she was. She does not deserve the support nor the love for being 'outspoken'. This is not being 'outspoken'. This is being a crass racist asshole
To be honest, I'm glad she's no longer around.
