Joel from Vinesauce got hacked

It's been like 5 days since he got hacked, and now the hacker deleted all of his videos.
This is disgusting, if any of you have ever watched Joel, you know he is a nice Swedish streamer.

What an ass of a hacker. Also, it seems that the script kiddie rmade fun of 4Chan, and now he is scared.

EDIT: Joel had had just reached 200k subscribers. Now his channel is losing them all.

Yeah, I noticed when I saw the videos on my sub box. Shame. Joel and Vinesauce are cool, he just celebrated passim 200k subs and lost a lot of his work

I just finished going over the Vinesauce forums looking for any sort of update on the matter and found nothing. I really hope this gets settled soon but it's been 5 days and YouTube still hasn't done a thing....

This whole situation just sucks. :(

Yeah, saw this. The Vinesauce crew are among the few gaming people on YT that I really like. Worth noting that Vinny got his start streaming games randomly for anons on /v/.
Really hoping that Joel had his shit backed up. Hope he's able to land on his feet and get back to streaming!

Both Joel and KY from Vinesauce were hacked recently. I was in Vinny's chatroom when the guy permanently banned everyone using KY's Twitch account. Bans are easy to reverse, but I imagine deleted Youtube videos are not. It's absolutely disgusting.

His videos that were cut and uploaded to his YouTube channel. Past broadcasts can still be found on his seperate channel but the special 5 - 10 minute ones are gone.

I read somewhere that this same guy hit Markiplier as well but I don't know how accurate that is. :/

I don't know him but if he does that for a living then it really sucks.

What did he do to get hacked? Some people really have nothing to do..

Especially attacking youtubers when it takes AGES to build subscribers...

If he makes videos for a living he should have them backed up on drives. Don't rely on cloud storage.

Vinesauce streamers are like the most inoffensive bunch ever from what I know. I only watch Vinny and rarely Joel but that seems to be the way they operate and choose people.

Quite strange to go after anyone from Vinesauce.

His videos are all backed, not only by Joel himself, but his fanbase.

Yeah, that's why I don't get it. I mean, Joel is a really nice person, so is Vinny. They're the streamers/Youtubers I follow the most.

This is supposedly the same guy who hacked Markiplier a while back ago. When 4chan threatened to dox him the guy removed all Joel's videos and has threatened to go against his full YT account, Twitch, Twitter and PayPal.

This is so upsetting. Why would you ever fuck with Joel? He is legit one of the greatest, nicest guys.

Most of the videos are backed up, if not by him then by fans.

The most damaging part about this are the subscribers being lost. He very recently celebrated getting to 200k subscribers and as of right now he is down to 184k. That's going to take a long time to fix and is a pretty significant impact if this is how he gets his income.

Saying "who" on an Internet forum, whether you realize it or not, is basically antagonism. You're on the Internet. Look it up. Why post here at all if you don't know or care who the victim is? To establish your sense of superiority.

It should be bannable because its trolling or carelessly stupid.

I don't understand. Is that something the hacker did? Is there like a means to ejects subscribes from the channel side or did he upload something malicious to the channel? I dunno why people would leave in droves like that if past videos went missing.

I like Joel's videos hope YT can help sort it out.

I was wondering who this "Towel" guy in my subscriptions was.

I like to put on Streams in the background when I'm doing work, and Joel's are usually pretty good. That really sucks that he was hacked. I mean, I'm sure someone can get his videos back up, be it YouTube or some fan that has all of his videos saved to a hard drive somewhere, but that's still a pretty big hit, especially if he's one of those Streamers that rely on ad revenue as a part of their income. I just hope this gets wrapped up sooner, rather than later.

How does this actually happen? Because YouTube can't be socially engineered (AFAIK) through any support channels, so was this a case of a shared password or something?

It takes a 5 second Google search. I didn't know of him either (I knew of Vinesauce, but not this guy). Regardless of whether you it is or not, what does posting "Who?" accomplish exactly? I mean other than making you look like some lame Edge Lord...

It doesn't even take a Google search to find out who he is if you don't know him, it's written in the OP which is only 4 sentences.

Sucks for the guy. I really enjoy Vinny from Vinesauce, haven't watched much of Joel but damn. The hacker uploading that video is so embarrassing. Youtube can recover these vids though, they're not suddenly gone forever. Hopefully it can be resolved quickly.

Probably not bannable but do it enough times and get a ban.

It's like stealth "why did you make a thread about thing I don't care about and think doesn't deserve thread" a lot of times because people hate youtubers for some reason.

Some of his videos had a crazy amount of views too, the Windows Destruction ones were in the millions.

This makes me so sad, Joel is possibly my favorite streamer out there. He also hasn't said anything on twitter since the hack, I'm a little worried :(
