I have the OT for this game already done and dusted and ready to post (and it looks real nice if I may say so myself) but I'm going to hold off until the eve so no one is confused about availability. Hopefully the game doesn't get lost in the Mario Kart madness!

This will be out in the west on April 27th. It's appeared on the Australian eShop priced at $6.50 AU.

Additionally, a soundtrack CD will be out next week in Japan.

European price has been confirmed at €4.99. Not sure about the UK price yet.

The trailer on the European eShop has a video, and that video mentions the US price of $4.99. So there we go.

This is the game that lit up the Japanese eShop charts and Chinese social media. There are plenty of (almost uniformly positive) import impressions already, and Destructoid even has a review out and gave it 8/10:

The Switch game worth an 'import' right now

It isn't every day that we here at Destructoid review imports, but like Dead or Alive Xtreme 3 which I also reviewed, Kamiko also features an all lady cast and offers an English translation if you grab it from the Japanese eShop. For a mere 500 Yen, which Google tells me is currently $4.60 USD, it was worth making a Japanese account and taking a chance on.

Basically if you're impatient. I like to support game sales in my region so I tend to give it a good month or so before I even consider importing.

Yep... There's another Switch game for me. I can't really argue with $5 for something that looks like Hyper Light Drifter. This plus Mario Kart 8 should keep me busy until Minecraft comes out.

Nah, having multiple accounts with their own balances is much more convenient IMO, homescreen be damned. Besides, each account is essentially another set of saves in save-limited games.

First thing I tried, didn't work. People in general have found the eShop via Switch to be much stricter than it was on 3DS and Wii U about foreign credit cards.

Won't work on Switch. If you have a linked Japanese 3DS you can add balance there and use it on Switch or just buy a digital card on Amazon JP. Note that you'll need a Japanese address to do that there, but it'll take your American card.

For 500 YEN, this is an absolute steal. The game doesn't offer that much, but its low entry point makes it a great in-between title. It's fun and has quite a bit of charm. The game has its issues, but nothing that makes 500 YEN less of a bargain. I would strongly encourage players to pick this up if they have the extra cash laying around.
