holy fucking shit :lol :lol

Probably a non-compete clause in Lambert's contract that initially got overlooked.

Good, good. It's one thing for Nintendo to steal our games, but stealing our beloved VP of Awesomeness? Now that's taking it too far.

Lawl @ Lambert being gone just like that

I would think he would be more worried about his steady paycheck from Sony completely disappearing.

Based on Sony's advertising lately *cough vita cough* they are clearly cheap and not doing so well in that department. Probably why he tried to move over to other commercials....

I think hes an actor trying to get jobs acting.

the dude is spokesperson for the playstation brand, and on top of that still getting paid for nationally aired bridgestone commercials. he is doing a great job and making a mint.

This is one of those things I would love to know the story behind--how did Sony react? was it really fan reaction that motivated this or were they independently working to get this removed on their own? Did Bridgestone change the ad on their own?

This also seems like a good time for the Kevin Butler twitter to announce KB's evil twin, Devon Butler, has been out consorting with the less-awesome consoles, but don't be fooled! etc.

or we can just paste over him with a larger gentleman and pretend it never happened, I guess.

Sony could have used this and made a new commercial nWo style saying how their awesome Sony guy is invading other places spreading the good word to fanboys or something.

But instead they (probably them?) just get pissy and want it delete from existence.

I was kinda half watching the college game on ESPN and I heard this commercial come on. I thought it sounded different.

Such a waste of money. Thought so then and still do now. Would have been better using actual footage of the games over a good song or music and been more successful. They're trying to get people to buy a PS3. Yet they do nothing practical in that to even do that.

Bwahahahahahahahahah

This has to be the most funny story for months, I keep lauhing about it every few minutes all morning today.

We all love Kevin Butler, but he was probably not effective enough of an ad campaign in the long term.

It's like the Old Spice guy. He was great, but I guess people got tired and preferred that wacko bald dude.

sorry, had to bump:

Sony are suing for this! Not only are they suing Bridgestone for the commercial, they're also suing Wildcat Creek, Inc.

Who are they? Well, evidently they're the advertising company hired by Bridgestone for the commercial. According to this their president is none other than Jerry Lambert.

Sony sues Kevin Butler lol

Wow are they taking this way too seriously ... I didn't know Sony had the money for frivolous lawsuits.

Oh wow. Seems they are going for trademark infringement. Based on those grounds it seems like Sony feels Jerry cant be in any other advertisements anymore because he is a Sony creation.
