Kimi no Na wa (Your Name) Collector's Edition back in stock at Amazon.jp

The 4K disc is region free, because the 4K format doesn't have region coding. I don't know about the standard Blu-ray, but if their release of 'The Place Promised in Our Early Days' is any indication, then it will probably be region locked.

The Hong Kong 4K UHD is like $60 cheaper.

Oh yesssssss!

Do you know if this will work on the Xbox One S? Not sure if this is region free or not.

The Hong Kong Blu-rays have been released today, but it doesn't seem like any webshop has received their stock yet. My 4K UHD+BD CE hasn't shipped yet.

4K UHD is region free, the normal Blu-ray should be locked to region A (US, JP, HK, TW, KOR)

I received the Hong Kong 4K UHD+BD CE today from Buyoyo. It arrived pretty fast and they also marked down the customs value. I'll probably use Buyoyo again in the future, but not for collector's editions. They put it in a bubble envelop and the box, obi and book got damaged a little bit during shipping. Sadly the box is not made of chipboard.

The Blu-ray is locked to region A. I've finished ripping the disc and should have screenshots up later today or tomorrow. I can't comment on the 4K UHD because I don't have a 4K TV and player.

The HK Blu-ray looks a bit darker and there are also some compression artifacts in high motion scenes, though I didn't notice it in motion and neither did I notice banding.

No US steelbook planned for now. You could buy the US standard edition and place the discs inside the steelbook. UK, France, Italy and Spain share the same steelbook design, but only the UK and French steelbooks come with the soundtrack CD.

Are there any steelbooks that would work in USA region?

IMO the blacks look deeper in the HK version. JP version looks a bit washed out in comparison?

Forgot to mention that in the first screenshot comparison link JP screenshot #1 was not taken correctly (colors are off, and black vertical line to the left).

The HK version looks slightly more washed out IMO. It's less bright and the colors have less saturation compared to the JP release.

Ordered the Japanese 4K set (despite not having any 4K capable hardware) way back and keep forgetting to figure out which US release I want to complement it. Need to get on that soon.
