Ladies and gentlemen I present to you the DSA (Democratic Socialists of America) National Convention. Oh God, this is embarassing...

They don't even hide the fact that they are communist. Down to calling each other comrade. And my god, "point of personal privilege ", the fuck does that even mean? Since when was saying ones opinion a privilege? Do they hate free speech so much that they have to make themselves take their own free ability to speak their opinion away? That's other non-sense. This is mind boggling how these people think. I just wonder if these people look at everyone else and go "look at these free thinkers" and mean it negatively.

I'm a dweeb for sharing, but what the hell, it's truly funny. I've been to big conferences before, I know what group think can be like, but this is the new gold standard. Scary as hell.
It's interesting how confusing it gets when nobody wants to use any pronouns at the risk of offending people. For instance, when the lead speaker was trying to get someone to run a mic to "the comrade in the jean jacket....of which there are many..." (right before the 10 minute mark). And look at how the speaker around 13 minutes struggles with a simple sentence because he's too concerned about referring to the (fully bearded) guy onstage as "he." Here's what he says:

"I had a question. So... ...Nick? Jack? What is his name---err, what is their name? ...They....were elected as an at-large delegate before they resigned. Is that correct? ...No? Okay then, never mind."

It's super-clunky. The speaker struggles with how to first address the guy onstage and decides to just go with his name (which he doesn't remember). When this doesn't work, he instinctively asks "what is his name," then immediately sees his error and changes to "what is their name?" Then when asking the question, continues to use "they," making it unclear if he's referring to one person (as the subject) and again unclear if he's referring to one person (as the direct object). Four different sentences could be implied from what he said: "He was elected before he resigned," "He was elected before they resigned," "They were elected before he resigned," or "They were elected before they resigned."

All this could be avoided if he just said something like "Regarding the gentleman onstage, was he elected as an at-large delegate before he resigned?" Granted, it's not always easy to speak well in front of crowds, but I still thought it was interesting how much that guy stumbled upon his words and muddied up the language as a result of trying to be inclusive.

These people should be rounded up directly on the convention floor and be taken straight to a mental institution where they can get the help they desperately need. It's win-win, they'll have a nice safe space for them away from the real world and we won't ever have to listen to their mentally ill ramblings.

This mob of DSA people doesnt even make sense.

On one hand, DSA is supposed to be some super socialist party where everything is sterilized and equal to the extreme.

But then everyone sticks up their hand for personal privilege trying to get individual perks.

Make up your mind.

It's like the cantina scene from Star Wars, complete with a dude that sounds just like Admiral Ackbar saying "PLeasssshhh don't ussseeeshhhh gendered languageshhhh to addressssssh anyone" instead of "Itshhhh a trap!"

EDIT: on a side note, Matt Stone and Trey Parker have an entire season's worth of material in these few short snippets alone. Get to work, guys.
You can't even parody this because its already a parody. How can you make it more absurd than this, or even beat their line delivery? It felt like I was watching a south park episode, but this was real life.

Looks like a bunch of kids playing a game and everybody invents their own rule and tries to enforce it on everybody :messenger_tears_of_joy: It would be funny if these people wouldn't be so supported and into the goverment.

Wow it's fascinating. In a way I understand why they become NPCs, everyone is fed up of hearing every mentally ill person stand up interrupting and trying to draw attention with a bunch of nonsense so they just agree in mass with whatever in order to get it over with.

When your own videos are used not only to paint other Democratic Socialists in a very bad light, the only choice is to delete. “What videos, comrade?” “Must be Capitalist Pig lie!” Can you imagine how bad this has damaged Bernie Sanders and AOC in the eyes of potential voters? That’s why the old man had to go on Rogan and AOC has been tweeting racism all week long.

Cowards. Can't even keep up a video. They won't be doing live streams anymore considering what a trainwreck of losers attend.

If there are people there who truly believe in social democracy they should get away from there and start another movement and don't let mentally ill people and identity politics basement dwellers dictate the rules even if they are accused of being politically incorrect. Sure mentally ill people also need compassion and respect but ffs, don't let them organize and run your organization.

You know whats truly funny? These people, within their little group here, show exactly why communism failed and they can't even see it. For fuck's sake, one of the complaints was against the idea of forming sub groups because that was already happening. These people don't understand that you can't form a group with the thought that everyone MUST agree 100%, because there will always be in fighting. But these are people too focused on on the idea that if you don't think the same then you have to leave. They'll attack each other over the smallest of contrivances and create small groups that will each want to run the entire show. I mean look at ERA, less than a year and their ban happy ways already lead to another faction being created (I cannot remember the name of that third forum).

I can picture it now, people in the DSA leave the DSA for form a "better" DSA because they feel the current one isn't good enough. They then begin to try and over throw the current people running the DSA and cause further in fighting and soon further factions. Soon, the entire group of the DSA comes crashing down.

I never understood Chomskys appeal. He's just an out of touch intellectual. Now he's even more out of touch and slightly demented. He still thinks the NYT and Washington Post are credible.
He was an anti-American, anti-Israel leftist that academia fell in love with and pushed onto all college students. He was a failed linguist who somehow managed to turn his anti-western stance into some sort of career.

I say right place right time.

How they have fallen.

The socialists/communists when I grew up were all pretty tough characters. Most often working hard labor/industry/factory jobs.
They often were involved in the unions. They would not hesitate to go out on the weekends and get into fistfights with the skinheads/the cops/or whomever they declare a capitalist. Or, quite frequently, they would go out and fight some other socialists/communists that were deemed "the wrong kind of socialist".
They were tough working class laborer.

These folks in the DSA ... The socialists of my youth would be ashamed and then rush in and beat them all up for being pathetic middle class larpers.
