Lady Gaga DLC coming to Rock Band!!

TOTALLY AWESOME!!! I'm a pretty big Gaga fan plus I like RB2, can't go wrong there! This will give me a reason to play RB2 again. Now, all we need is MJ tracks!

What the hell? This thread should ONLY be about Cartmans version of Poker face.

Epic shit! Saves next weeks DLC alone.

Oh, so GaGa is getting a DLC pack, hmm? I guess that's kinda cool.

I've noticed a curious relationship between a post containing some sort of mindless, misinformed GaGa hate, and that same post also containing praise for and excitement regarding a cartoon third-grader on a past-relevant crude humor animated TV show singing a pop song.

I mean I'm just saying.

:lol Dude doesn't watch South Park. It's not 1999 anymore.

I think you are misinformed duder. Cartman has, and always will be relivant.

Gimme Starstruck - babycauseyoublowmyheartup.

Pretty cool news, I'd love for a lot more contemporary dance pop to be available in these rhythm games. Band Hero was lacking in that department, disappointingly.

The Gaga thing is probably just an offshoot because of South Park, though. (I guess?) It'd be killer to see Rock Band explore this genre on wider scale.

Gaga can actually sing and play the piano.

I don't think that's what cabot was getting at.

Not to say I agree that Ke$ha and Lady Gaga are "practically the same thing," but I'd wager he's more referring to the similar songs, similar production, etc. Though they've got way different vocal styles and personas, which makes all the difference in the world - both in the studio and out.

They're totally distinct enough where I can see a person favoring one over the other, despite their similarities when you hear one fade into the next on the radio...but there are enough similarities where there's a lot of crossover love among listeners, which is always a good thing!

Wow, I'd heard tell that GaGa is actually saying "fuck her face" in the Poker Face chorus, end of that video confirms.

Pokerface is actually about Lady Gaga's bisexuality. She said in an interview she wrote it after she realized she would frequently think about women after her and her boyfriend did the deed...

Lady gaga songs feature the instruments used in a rock band? I thought it was all keyboard.

Look, Im all for variety in music games.....but doesnt it make more sense for guitar hero and rock band to expand into, say, flamenco music, than whatever it is that lady gag is categorized as?

I mean, I play music games for the challenge. I feel that some Rodrigo and Gabriella would challenge me. I cant say the same about lady gaga (excluding vocals)

I first didnt get the GAF hype and hated her stuff. Then I slowly began to understand and love her now, even though I usually hate any kind of pop music.

And yes, Cartman version is amazing. Shame I dont own RB anymore :lol

Who is this Lady Gaga and why people care so much? Is she a pop singer or something?
I refuse to believe someone has not heard of GaGa in 2010. It would be the absolute epitome of living under a rock...even if you're from another country which seems like the only possibility.

My girlfriend is stoked about this.

The arrangements are electronic, yeah - but the core elements are still there. Percussion is there, bass is there, plenty of lead synth lines to translate into lead guitar lines, etc. It's all there, ready to play.

Even if the challenge isn't up to typical Rock Band par, being able to participate in the song is the unique selling point here. Getting scored on the singing, keeping the beat, etc. These types of songs are great for Rock Band - though they're obviously a bit of a different experience. Set the raw challenge aside and have fun.

BROOKLYN RAGE.

I wanna duel 'em like they do in Yu-Gi-Oh
Face down face up trap cards spell cards then time roulette go (I love it!)
All I do is just believe in the heart of the cards
And then I kick some butt when I use Swordsman of Landstar

Maybe I'm wrong but I think this thought process kinda explains why people don't like certain (well, most) streams of "pop music" because for some reason they don't or cannot 'comprehend' the appealing basic factors of a song:

A great bass line, a great riff, strong percussiveness, interesting melodies/lyrics (although admittedly some (but not all) lyrics are clichéd and/or don't talk about situations that perhaps the 'rock lover' tends to get themselves into).

What does that have to do with lady gaga songs and rock band instruments.

You know, the funny thing is, I can't stand Lady Gaga's version of Poker Face, but I think Eric Cartman's version is all kinds of awesome. :-) When I saw that that episode, I thought it would be funny if they eventually added "Poker Face" to Rock Band, but to also add Cartman's version? Beyond hilarious.

FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU.. Hadn't it been for the fact that I lost my job two weeks ago I would've bought Rock Band just for this. Lady Gaga is the best the best the best thing to happen to pop music since.. probably since Michael Jackson. Singstar Lady Gaga plz Sony?

Beyonce ruins everything she touches.
Contrarian? Gaga's a great performance artist. But Beyonce is probably the best female pop artist out there right now.

Semantics? Beyoncé is even less "pop" than Rihanna or Black Eyed Peas, neither of whom technically produce much classic "pop". :P

this isnt bad news.

im not a fan necessarily (havent really heard any songs besides some live perfomance or two on TV), but hopefully its good for HMX/RB2. they deserve $$$ because they pretty much made the best party game of all time.

and it it makes some new or old fans happy, then good. enjoy folks. thats what Rock Band is all about.

Look i love HMX and Rock Band, but this is getting ridiculous. Everything that people laughed at Guitar Hero and Activision are happening with them. Do these songs even have guitar/bass tracks? Its a joke. Oh well, still one of the best games this gen. Nothing lasts forever though . . .

Lady Gaga is great. I dig it when she just jams out one of her songs for like 15 minutes live and ends up playing the piano with her feet and going nuts. NSFW NSFW

Wow, that was 10/10 amazing. Never seen that performance before. Thanks for posting it.

And Ke$ha is trash. I like pop music, but I just can't stand her voice. And she looks so annoying.

There are far far worse songs in the Rock Band library compared to Lady Gaga.

I don't really undrestand the big deal even if there aren't bass or guitar tracks. There's nothing that says every song has to include them. More variety is a good thing and if you don't want to download a song that doesn't have every component, then you don't have to.

That having been said, I think their should be a sliding scale based on whether or not a song is missing different instruments but I know that would never happen.

You know, nowdays it is possible to stay away from a "pop phenomenon"

Back when we lived in caves without internet, TV was almost the only thing we had as entertainment. So anything they put on the telly became common knowlege. It was just impossible to miss a "pop phenomenon"

But today with the internet i choose what da hell i want to see.

So last week i finally said "well, so ill see what this Lady Gaga is about". And watched a music video on youtube.

I could say what i think about her, but to tell you the truth, it dosent matter.
The really interesting fact is that today you can choose what you want to see and care about.

It's a silly argument to begin with since there's a few Freezepop songs in the game already and no one has complained about the lack of "actual" instruments in those. I mean, there's a jazz song on RBN where they chart the saxophone to vocals!

Come on surely its not in the realms of impossibility that a pop singer is not know by everyone!
