Largest creatures in a game.

Any of the collossi in Shadow of the Colossus, hands down. That game had a knack for making you feel very small in comparison.
Well, most of them were actually not that big, but a few of them were ginormous.

Not in the game itself, but in one of the cinematics. But in Panzer Dragoon Orta, there was this huuuuge flatfish-like sand creature swimming through the desert. It had to be at least 5 miles in length and it was so huge it had mountains, small lakes, forests, and a village. I dunno, seeing that was just amazing. I wish it was in the actual game itself and an actual level.

(not technically a creature, i guess, but people are posting all sorts of other things like robots, demigods, and shit, so i figure it counts ;) )

Come on, those can't be the biggest creatures. There has to be a game where you fight the universe, or something.

But, isn't Meteo really frickin' huge or something?

Edit: Of course it is! Those Colossi could LIVE on Meteo, I bet.

Too late with Meteo...
But someone asked for shooters. These are fitting because the player's spaceship usually is a dozen times times bigger as a human already.

Gradius V - Level 4 - you're supposed to fly inside the creature and destroy its heart.

Kabuto, from Giants: Citizen Kabuto was fucking huge, especially when you were playing as the mechs. And there was actual interaction there...none of this "oh its the background and you're flying inside it" crap. What an awesome game giants was. :)

Hahaha! See, I knew there was something like this... I was trying to think of what would be bigger than anything in SoTC, and it struck me that anything in a shooter would automatically be 10-20 times larger than it appeared, due to the spaceship being bigger than the human.

Ah, that one from Gradius V reminded me (don't think it's been mentioned yet...) of the Leviathan from DMC3. Unfortunately I couldn't find any pics, but he'd have to be pretty big for someone to run through his intestines like a corridor =]

The Great Light and The Profound Darkness - Phantasy Star IV

both are as big as a decent sized galaxy, at least.
you fight the Profound Darkness, I guess in a condensed form

Cant think of a gaint boss, but the one of the smallest has to be:

This is AC2, but i remember him from AC1. I remember people spent weeks thinking he was unstoppable, and scoured the land for the holy hand grenade :lol

The game had lots of funny crap like that, inlcuding an NPC called Paul Bunyan who was huge, cant find any pics of it though.

It's a Lathum, and there's one you fight in Panzer Dragoon Saga. You hit it all over until you find a soft spot - it turns red - then you target that spot until the Lathum moves it's surface gloopy style, changing and hiding again the softspot.

QFT. I'm sure there are bigger monsters out there, but none so effective at inspiring pants-soiling FEAR in gamers. Few things I've run across in gaming are quite so terrifying as having a creature that could bite the head of a T-Rex spot your little hunter, bellow an ear-splitting roar, then charge right at YOU.

Your first instinct upon seeing a Rathalos? RUN. RUN. DON'T STOP. RUN.

Can't wait to see what Capcom has cooked up for MH2.
