Late to the Verdict: Phoenix Wright 3 and Ace Attorney 4

I usually finished the AA games in a week, but I was obsessed with finding and reading every line of script, so I would present almost all pieces of evidence and profiles to every person.

Same here. Even when I think it has nothing to do with the case I present it anyway. Sometimes when you get multiple choices for an answer and you know the right one I say the wrong answer just to get the reaction.:lol

Ok, I don't do that :lol :lol :lol

Actually, even though it tells you how to save whenever, I never stuck into my mind. I thought it was L+R+ some of the face buttons.

I restarted in the middle of a case once because of that :(

I didn't even know you could press start to save through most of my first run through of the first game. Didn't really matter though, I took most of it in one "sitting."

Did anybody else think that Godot was von Karma at first? For one, he seemed like he knew Phoenix. von Karma was the only prosecutor I knew that would have a grudge that deep against him. Plus, there was his comments that he had "come back from the depths of hell to do battle with you". I'm pretty sure it's implied that von Karma was given the death penalty, which would explain the "depths of hell" part. The only problem was that he appeared to have the body of a strong young man, whereas von Karma was an old curmudgeon. I figured he might have had some operation or something in order to spruce up his body, which would explain the mask. I also thought it could be likely that he was being channeled by someone.

Anyway, at first I kind of hoped it was him, even though the evidence pointed against it. But I'm glad now that it wasn't the case, because Diego Armando was much better than any von Karma resurrection would have been.

I'll take that as a no.

Actually, maybe I'd better take that as a "no, you lunatic!"

The only thing you need to know that Godot isn't Von Karma's ghost: Von Karma would never, ever, EVER be that cool.

Why would he "resurrect" himself and then challenge Phoenix in court anonymously instead of murdering him?

Von Karma was always a man of chivalry.

Aside from that taser thing. And forging evidence. And...

Eh, doesn't seem like Von Karma's style. Still would be pretty cool to see him again. I remember when he first said OBJECTION in case 4. Scared the mess out of me and I thought I was way out of my league.

Almost done with case 3. It's a lot more enjoyable now that I've finally let it sink into my head that my rival is a rock god. *rolls eyes*
You're damned right he is!

Finally another fair evaluation of AA4.

Except I really think PW3 effed up on many levels too, despite having some of the best stuff in the series.

Himuro I feel the same damn way about the damn Perceive system. I don't get how so many like it so much. The dialogue moves sooooooooooooooo slow when you're using it and it's really hard to pin down when they mess up. FFS at least show the whole person so I don't have to move a tiny dot around hoping to see it. The need to fix that because in my honest opinion Psyche Locks were way better.
Still say it was Godsend to get Psyche Locks again in the last case.
And I don't care what anybody says Klavier was the worst prosecutor. Winston Payne had more character than him. The series rank imo.

AA3=AA1>>AA2>AA4

Hopefully some of the older cast show up in the next game and Apollo was ok but he was seriously underdeveloped.
I'm kind of use to Phoenix in a Mentor role. I just want him to get his badge back because he didn't deserve to have it taken away. Be nice to play Phoenix again in some cases here in there in another game as long as Apollo gets star billing.

Oh and yes your in the minority with your opinion.:D

I never knew how much I missed
Gumshoe until he showed up in Case 4. I mean if you're going to do an old Phoenix case wouldn't that be a perfect time for the old cast to show up again. Where the heck is Maya? Why is Klavier the prosecutor and not Edgeworth? How come none of Phoenix's old friends help him out when he lost his license?
Oh well at least Apollo is ok and Trucy is adorable.

Started case 4 on Apollo Justice today. So far I agree with most of Himuro's thoughts, specially:

-This is the first completely "DS" game for the series so it should have had an improvement in some areas - the presentation in some aspects needed a facelift after being the same for four games in a row. Nice intros, the concert CG wasnt so bad. But there should have been more.
+I really really like the music here. Very very nice. I even love Klavier's themes and the jail music kicks ass. [Detention Center]. Another plus for the music is they didnt include some of the specific CRAPPY tracks (for me) from the first trilogy - i didnt hear Gumshoe's music, nor the chick with the Afro music, nor Pearls/Maya's theme. I hated those tracks. Hated. Hated. Hated.
-What did they do to Phoenix........?
+One of the few things I didnt feel the same way as Himuro did was Klavier. I *did* hate how he wasnt close to being as threatening as the Von Karmas, and the amazing Godot and Edgeworth. But I liked the guy, I really enjoyed his character. Certainly much more than Apollos.
+/- Apollo is ....alright I guess. Hes nothing special. His character certainly isnt. Hes just, plain. And yes, the chords of steel thing is a little stale.
+/- Perceive. While I dont hate it too much - its very 'gimmicky' :/ Makes the cases less realistic even "Oh wait! Why did you just rub your neck when you mentioned his name?!" etc etc, while in reality people tend to do that - flinches and whatnot - when they feel guilty about something, having every single verdit depend on a "perceptive" action can be ridiculous.
-Where are the psyche-locks???? :/ :/

You'll have to
wait until the 4th case unfortunately.
Hang in there.

I always wondered why they didn't improve some of the backgrounds in the DS versions of the earlier Ace Attorney games. For static images that got so much use (across three games, even), it seems like it would have been a big gain from little effort.

AA4 spoiler:
However, going back to the old dithery graphics for the "seven years ago" segment is pretty badass, and mostly makes up for it.
