Launch titles that would make you purchase the WiiU/PS4/720 Day One.

Xbox:
Halo 5
Gears of War 4/New ip from Epic
Alan Wake 2
New ip from Rare

Wii U:
Not interested.

Playstation 4:
Not interested, however a God of War 4 might be too tempting to pass up.

Here's a better answer-

I will buy the console that launches with Mid end specs in Late 2014.

PS4 - Gran Turismo 6 Prologue, Uncharted 4
Xbox 720 - Gears 4 (but I would never buy a console for it)
Wii U - LOL wut?

ps4: gt6 with graphics equal to gt 5 photomode
xbox: not interested
wii U, nintendo always manages to make me buy there console, still disappointed in 3ds and wii. But probably i will be a sucker again and buy it no matter what. Nice launch title would be f-zero or pikmin (dont think we can expect either mario or zelda).

Wii U:
Donkey Kong Country, a new, killer one

Playstation 4
Gran Turismo 6, new God of War, Metal Gear, Uncharted

XBox 720:
....a new exclusive maybe? I don't care for Halo, Gears or Fable.

WiiU: SSB4/ Pikmin 3
Ps4: I dunno. GoW4? I don't even have a PS3
720: Who knows. Rock Band, but that won't be exclusive if they ever make another.

A Metal Gear game or Persona. Then I HAVE to purchase it (I bought my PS3 solely for MGS4, and an american PS2 for P3FES and P4 after trying P3). But then again knowing myself I'd buy all three of them, but in which order the first console I'd choose must have MGS or Persona.
Persona game on launch?

They would have needed to have the development kits years ago to make that happen.

I dunno, I find the ones like boombloxer to be the hardest to understand. Okay, I get he's a Sony fan, but let's look at it:

He lists several third party games for Sony, but then says there's nothing on Xbox because none of the exclusives would matter. What if MS pulled RDR2 as an exclusive, or Assassin's Creed? Something like that?

Or Wii U. Nothing? Nothing at all? Absolutely no exclusive lineup could sway you? What if they lined up MGS5 out of nowhere? Just as an example.

I don't know. Seems weird is all.

It's not really weird.

Gears is something I'd definitely love to play, but wouldn't pick up a new console for. I'm more hesitant for the 720 pricing structure to play online. That's a big enough question mark, I know that AC/RDR are multiplatform titles, but if I'm going to get them, then it will be for the platform that has titles I already like. And all of the 360 exclusives pale to me (not a huge Forza/GT guy, I just like the vids and stills), there won't be another Crackdown, and I enjoyed Infamous more. Banjo is ok, Rachet is there (but truthfully, lost me, I'm not buying that series for a while). Stuff like Borderlands, etc are great titles that probably won't be exclusive next gen.

Sure, anything can happen, and an exclusive AC/RDR would be a damn good reason to consider switching, but speculating on a multiplatform title suddenly being exclusive is too hard to call at this stage.

Same thing with WiiU. I'm curious about the controller, but most of what I've seen and heard has it sounding like games on the other two platforms with a more nebulous online structure (publisher dependent). Something that lags behind both XBL and PSN. So again, more of a question mark. MGS5 being exclusive is a bit harder to imagine, as their engine is already multiplatform.

So out of 3 platforms, 1 is in the middle with a ton of games I know I'd be interested in at launch. Thus, they get the nod.

I have a few:

PS4
WipeOut 4 (the real Wipeout, not that MXC like stuff)
Destruction Derby reboot/remake
Jumping Flash! HD
TimeSplitters 4
FF7 remake
FF9 remake
Summoner reboot (THQ is missing out not doing this)
Uncharted 4
God of War 4

Xbox 720/Xbox X3/Next-gen Xbox
Otogi 3
Unreal 3
Perfect Dark 2 (NOT using PD:Z engine please)
GUN 2
Far Cry 3
new Banjo-Kazooie game (Banjo-Threeie? Nuts & Bolts isn't really a Banjo game, but it's fun)
Gears of War 4 or
side story game about The Pendulum Wars

Wii U
Starfox Wii U
Wario Land: Shake It! sequel/Wario Land game from Good Feel
Donkey Kong Country Returns 2
Kirby's Epic Yarn 2
Super Mario Galaxy 3
StarTropics Wii U

Hardware that won't break within a year for using it: The Movie: The Game: The Game.

Seriously? I'm not interested in a PS4/720 unless they won't fucking break if you so much as turn them on for a good 10 years. I'll just buy a new PC when I get the cash and miss out on titles that I would love to play but I'll just stick to Battlefield on PC if that's what the console manufacturers want me to do. Because, frankly, fuck them. I've spent as much as a a new 360 on launch to fix both of my 360/PS3 and only to have them fail a year later. Fuck them.

PS4: New Abe's Oddysey game
NextBox: Not really sure... a revision of the Halo franchise would be nice...
WiiU: F-Zero, HD Zelda, Mario Universe or whatever it'll be, Metroid Prime 5.

Being completely honest, it would take a lot for me to buy a console at launch that isn't Nintendo's.

Wii U (anyone of these)

Mario U-niverse
Paper Mario: subtitle
Zelda
MonolithSoft RPG
Eternal Darkness II

Other systems could wait. Most likely the PS4 for FROMSoft's next Souls game.

You deserve it!

These are all really theoretical, best-case scenario sort of things. I don't have a PS3 so there's going to be understandably less effort with that one.

Xbox 720
Halo 5, after 343 Industries have proven themselves and made Halo 4 not only a welcome addition to the series, but have the audience wanting more. It is the Halo 4's answer to Halo 1's Halo 2.
what?

Wii U
A new Pokemon game made with a heavily modified Colosseum engine, or one built from scratch. Rather than being an MMO, it's the most story-driven yet and has an expansive plotline that gets you used to the new Pokemon, the new characters, and the new region. Post-game opens up the world in a new way: it allows for online integration, and after you've completed the actual story actual players start showing up rather than being just NPCs. The music is fully "orchestrated" (due to the varying styles, think something along the lines of Brawl) rather than relying on soundfonts. The graphics would be good by today's standards but modest for the Wii U; think Final Fantasy, Halo Reach, etc. Going to other regions is optional. Also allow the engine to allow for "custom" moves, abilities, even pokemon, etc. so that other generations can basically be spliced in.

PS4
at this rate, The Last Guardian

Halo is probably the only game I'd go buy a new console for.

An improved Wii U Fit would be tempting though.

PS4:
-game in the Demon/Dark Souls universe
-Uncharted 4
-Warhawk/Starhawk sequel

720:
Nothing. Couldn't care less about Microsoft exclusives

Wii U:
-Zelda
-Zelda
-Zelda

I will own all consoles, I don't believe in the idea that a console won't have quality software that will have been sad to miss out on even if the selection of said titles is lower then the others.

As for what I would want to pick up on day 1 and feel good about the console?

Mass Effect 1 and 2 with updated textures and features from 3. Most importantly to have the new Default/Canon Fem Shep be an option.

Devil May Cry 5, and no fuck you DmC and any shitty off spring you have.

Alan Wake 2

Mario/Zelda

Sony's first party in my opinion is shit so I don't want anything from the personally but still I can't wait to get a PS4.

I was actually thinking the other night that if Rare busted out a new Killer Instinct as a launch title for 720 I would be there day 1. I'd also take Conker 2 or even Kameo 2.

WiiU: Nothing after how horrible NoA treated Wii owners this generation.

Xbox: Demon's/Dark Souls-esque game by From Software

PS4: Demon's/Dark Souls-esque game by From Software

PS4
Uncharted, Jak and Daxter, Ratchet and Clank, Sly Cooper, all the good stuff.

This.

A new Zelda might get me into a WiiU, but not at launch. I only keep my 360 because it's not worth selling it and I have a couple of games I quite like for it, but nothing enough to get a new Xbox at launch.

I never buy a system for a single title, but the title that would make me take notice for each system:

Wii U: Eternal Darkness 2

Xbox 3 (I am not calling it 720... its a stupid name): Crimson Skies Sequel/Reboot

PS4: Given the love From Software has for Sony, I am going to say Lost Kingdom's 3 (even though it would seem more likely to appear on a Nintendo system :P)

StarTropics Wii U

I hope somebody is paying attention to this. Because I need almost all these games. Especially WipeOut, Destruction Derby, StarFox, and most of all Jumping Flash!

Wii U -
1. Nintendo vs. Capcom......ONO was so on board with the idea but damn it Nintendo. If not that, then SFXTK with exclusive Nintendo characters (FALCON PAWWWWNCH)

2. Kingdom Hearts 3

3. F-Zero

4. Super Smash Bros.

5. Zelda

6. Super Monkey Ball (w/out motion)

I don't want a PS4/720 for another few years.

Wii U
-A new Rogue Squadron by a reformed Factor 5.
If you dream it...
-A new F-Zero game.

PS4
-A new game from Kojima similar to MGS3, but bigger and next-gen-ier. (doesn't have to be an MGS game)

Xbox720
-MS investing in some good quality new IPs from top developers that don't involve lots of hand gestures. You know, the kind of thing they used to do.
-MOAR HALOZ. (I'm real interested in the direction Halo 4 might be taking, so I'll wait and see).

I'd love for a new Timesplitters when it comes to multi-plats.

Also, Capcom magically de-shitifying themselves would be awesome.

PS4: Ape Escape 4. It has to happen sooner or later.

Xbox 720: New Blue Dragon similar to the first 360 game. Or really any Mistwalker game that's similar to the first Blue Dragon. That could happen on any of the consoles though.

Wii U: Paper Mario but with the 3DS game next year I don't think that's likely.

Honestly right now I don't see myself getting any of them day one but those would definitely change my mind.

I will no longer buy any next gen console within the first 12 to 18 months of launch.

Unless there is a Monster Hunter game available for purchase.

WiiU: NoU. Won't be getting it.

PS4: Won't be getting at launch.

720: DOA helmed by Itagaki
:(
Gears
Haro
Mistwalker games
Catherine 2
Persona 5
Trauma Center
:(

Ps3-
Jak 4
Fur Fighters

WiiU-
Pokemon
Smash bros melee with 100 characters.
mKart Double Dash 2. with 100 tracks.
actually functioning online system.

Nextbox-
nothing really.

Wii U: Pikmin 3. I really hope it launches as I bought Pikmin along with my GCN in 2001. That was amazing!

PS4/Xbox 720: Not interested in launch, but if there are multi-platforms only for those consoles I would buy the cheapest one (like what I had done in 2008 -Black Friday shopping for a 360).

I dont understand the KH3

They butchered it.
I wouldn't understand a thing when the game starts.
so... many........spinoffs.

Wii U - A combination of the following...
- Fire Emblem
- Metroid: 2.5D; Return to its roots.
- Pokemon: Full 3D world, potential MMO capabilities.
- Zelda: No motion control BS.
- DKCR 2
- NSMB Wii 2
- Next evolution of Mario

PS4
- Uncharted 4
- Mass Effect 4
- Next Ueda game
- Valkyria Chronicles 4
- Final Fantasy throwback ala FF9, traditional turnbased combat.
- Some wickedly awesome new SRPG IP that pushes the boundaries like Valkyria Chronicles did on the PS3.
- Kickass 2D action/platformers on PSN.

Wii u - A console Zelda or Eternal Darkness made by Retro or Suda51
PS4 - Dark Cloud or Tomba sequels (I usually get the big sony franchises when they drop in price.
Xbox720 - Zero chance of getting a launch console. Unless they resurrect Shadow of Rome and Gladius.

Wii U:
'New Super Mario World' in 1080p, sprite based graphics in the style of the original SMW. Capes, flowers, Yoshi, etc included. Button controlled spin-jump - controls completely user-mappable; as much or as little motion controls as desired. Orchestrated Score of classic Mario tracks.Double-triple the length of SMW.

Also on game completion you could select 'mirror' mode and play through from right-left. sounds stupid, but i have a feeling it would be pretty trippy. Especially using the damn cape 'backwards'.

...yeah it's never happening. but whatever...
:'(

Haven't thought of ideas for the other two consoles yet : p
