For the PS4 and 720 in terms of established franchises a new splinter cell with Spies Vs Mercs or an MMO.
 
I'm still waiting for Super Mario 64-2. Shit, I would buy a 64DD if they launched together. Just let me play it.

I don't trust Itagaki to make a good DOA game after DOA4.
 
Have a feeling Bethesda is going to have the next Fallout installment grace next gen consoles early (about the same time frame from console release as Oblivion). In which case I'll be there for that.
 
WiiU - new IP from Nintendo which uses the tablet well

PS4 - new IP from ND or Sucker Punch

xbox 3 - xbox live gold free and gears of war 4. I love playing horde even if its not original or creative - just simple minded fun. I'm not paying for gold anymore however, so I may skip xbox the next gen.


If any console gets an exclusive from From Software at launch, I will buy that console.
 
WiiU - Wind Waker 2. Yep. Would work great for the hardware
PS4 - A decent RPG by Square Enix? Ah fuck it, just give me Chrono Trigger remade

New IPs from Sony's in house developers. Uncharted, Resistance, Ratchet and Clank, Killzone, etc all need to take a break next gen.

I will buy all of them day one this time. I missed too much gaming. I will not play them much at all just for collection haaha. I would want good wiiu zelda game for sure.

Why are you asking specifically to me? Alot others users listed third party titles under PS4, 720.
 
Wii U: I'm already sold. But a new Mario game would make me explode, but Nintendo, please make it Wave Race U!!!!

Xbox720: Nothing.

PS4: Ratchet and Clank could push me into buying day 1 if the price is right, but, I am very burnt from rushing into the PS3 day 1 ($1000au, yep..... regret).
 
Wii U: A full console Pokemon game with online play.

Playstation 4: SotC 2

Xbox 720: Halo 5

But the game that would make me buy any console instantly would be Streets of Rage 4. If they could get that as an exclusive it would be an instant buy.
 
I'm going to one up that other guy right now.

A full console Pokemon MMORPG for the WiiU, that has both interactive online, and a structured world system, ie. Gym Leader tests, Elite Four tests, and fucking rankings, to distinguish the scrubs, from the otherwise bad ass mother fucking Gary Oaks.
 
This will be the first gen where I don't buy a system at launch. I don't care what they announce. This gen has left such a bad taste in my mouth that I may sit the next gen out for a few years.

It worked for me this gen. Didn't pick up a PS3 or Wii until several years after launch and I'm happy with both, for different reasons; PS3 is hitting it's stride, Wii finally has a decent amount of good games for cheap.

I'll probably do the same next gen. unless someone really comes out of the gate strong.
 
Playing along with the OP's rules, I'll just name one hypothetical exclusive game that would get me to bite, along with the reality of what I've already decided.

XBox 3
Hypothetical: Difficult to think of, but probably (inevitably) Halo 4 so long as its nothing like Halo 3 with its broken campaign (2 levels in particular). The game would need to be significantly different to the others in the series though - having a story would be good. It sounds mildly promising from the little information that has been revealed so far.

Reality: Not buying anywhere close to launch, based on Microsoft's complete inability to make reliable hardware. Might consider it 2-3 years in when the inevitable bugs are ironed out.

Playstation 4
Hypothetical: Pixeljunk Monsters 2 or some variant thereof. I love the aesthetic and gameplay of these games and they are really addictive. A new one would be the game most likely to get me to bite.

Reality: Not touching PS4 thanks to PSN unreliability, Sony's attitude to its customers in the aftermath and the inconvenient nature of the service in general.

Wii U
Hypothetical: The next game from the Super Mario Galaxy team. But I would prefer it if the game was not SMG3. I'd like a different take on the series, at least thematically, and with a lot of new ideas.

Reality: Already buying day one based on satisfaction with Wii and DS output, and reliability of hardware.
 
I have such a huge backlog of super long games, I don't think I'll be picking up any of the new systems at launch. Instead I'll be working through, Dark Souls, Skyrim, Xenoblade, etc.
 
Wii U: Smash Bros.
PS4: Anything if it's a multimedia powerhouse like the PS3.
Xbox 720: Nothing, unless Microsoft acquires some intriguing exclusives like they had earlier this generation.

Wii U - Any impressive core Nintendo title ( Zelda, Mario, etc.)

XBOX 720 - I'll just buy it at launch, just because. I would like a good action RPG and a Shooter, either first or third person that shows the system off.

PS4 - Won't be purchasing.
 
Wii U: Something from Monolith soft

PS4: Yakuza 6, new uncharted, next game from Team Ico(lol)/Siren.

Next X-box: Not interested.
 
I am not interested in Wiiu, to early to talk about PS4. Probably will get Xbox 720 (or whetever they called it) day one, but it would be sweet to have:

- A new Project Gotham Racing
- Forza 720
- Halo 4 720 version
- A new Kameo

And won't never happen, but a new GunValkyrie, Jet Set Radio

After that MGS4 fiasco, we knew better than to buy just ONE game for the system. We at least make sure there's 5 games that we definitely wanted to play on it at the time they're all available, we'll get the console. So with that trend, I'll list the MUST buys that are possible with the system.

WiiU - Xenoblade 2, Opoona 2, Pikmin 3, Mario, Zelda, Kirby, and Dragon Quest (shakes fist).

PS4 - MGSV, Katamari, a proper Phantasy Star, Tales

720 - LOL, Anything really, but I think we won't get this console on launch because really the track record with dat 360 isn't helping. But nevertheless, we'll get it for Assassin's Creed sequel, any other wrpg, jrpg, LEGO games, any game from Rockstar, and finally and ultimately a Viva Pinata 3. Damn it.

EDIT: Ohh, Jet Set Radio too mannnnn. Resident Evil too I suppose. And uh... Silent Hill.

He would not be making the new DOA....it more likely the people who are making the DOA5 for the PS3 and 360 would make the game.

Where did the 5 come from? I doubt we'd even get 4 by the time Wii U launches.
 
I just realized there is one game I would buy a WiiU for.

A Robotech game that utilized all controllers

Balance board = foot pedals
Wiimote + Nunchuk = HOTAS
Wii U tablet - com display, etc.
