Summons: Do Mundo. Pass on your wisdom here.
If I had wisdom I wouldn't be in ultra low ELO, but I do kinda like Mundo. I just don't feel like he's a top tier non-banned carrying jungler/laner, and that's what I want to become consistently good at. Lee Sin is sometimes banned but I don't think he's banned that often compared to say, Shaco or Morgana.

Summons: Do Mundo. Pass on your wisdom here.
Attack speed reds and quints, flat armor yellow, MR per level blues. 9/21/0 masteries, smite exhaust, priority is max burning agony then masochism then cleaver, you can start cloth 5 pots or boots 3, core items are along the lines of tabis or zerk boots, aegis, warmogs, wits end and randuins if the game goes on.

Jungle poppy too strongah

But no seriously, don't do it. Ganks are so easy to mess up if you miss that stun. And getting blue takes forever at level 1.

Feels good to get the first 6 kills of the game.

holy crap... That cho gath is 2200elo. Why is he buying boots of swiftness and 0 wards D:

Actually, everyone in that room has 1400+ elo other than ez. Interesting game.

So many condescending people in this thread whenever someone posts a screenshot from a game. Not a surprise this game has the worst community.
So... who's going to critique me? :p

You used to be cool until you start maining a yordle, now we invite you just to give the other team a chance.

Dear summons,

Don't go Last Whisper right after brutaliser.

Thanks.
OH SNAP, Boken gonna Boken, etc.

However, whether or not you're a good player, the funny thing is that I tried going last whisper again after you told me my builds were terrible to begin with or whatever (even when I was going 13/1 and whatever) and said that, in your only ranked game you've played with Riven, you did well and built last whisper or whatnot. And I started my mostly-boots-first Riven experiment thanks to your boots first suggestion. So be glad someone is actually listening to some of your advice! <3

The one thing that I -definitely- don't want to change is the early brutalizer. I may be crazy, but I absolutely feel like the early CDR and ArPen is almost necessary. There's a huge difference between being able to cycle through your entire ability and auto-attack combo cycle and almost be ready to start it again, and ending the cycle with everything on cooldown for a few seconds. In particular, you can manage to escape people chasing you and end up not dying with the CDR.

I got last whisper in this case presumably because I needed/wanted to go buy/heal, and I presumably did not have enough gold for a BF sword, and I did not want to just sit on the gold, and I apparently did not want to buy a skull stick for lifesteal at that point in time. So, it was nice to get the extra last whisper attack damage. In retrospect, getting only the pickaxe and mixing in a skull stick at the same time might have been better, but then I wouldn't have had a finished item and extra ArPen. I presumably had plenty of time and gold later to pick up another sword or two. I also probably should have rushed guardian's angel instead of getting another big sword, but I was probably feeling a bit reckless until I started taking heavy damage near the end of the game.

I seem to recall going last whisper in a recent previous game because my lane opponent was stacking a couple of armor items and I wanted to be funny.

Last but not least, remember that I serve a valuable purpose in this thread. If no one posted screenshots, how would everyone manage to feel superior about themselves? :p

I'm not telling you to not build brutaliser, I'm saying that if you build brutaliser, dont rush last whisper right after. Brutaliser is an early game item so if you want to make the most of it, you should get damage (BT, or if you cant afford that, dorans - also an early game item) this is because youre already penetrating a shit ton of their armour already. ALSO, buying brutaliser gimps your late game and so you HAVE to abuse it buy dorans, BF, whatever to allow you to own their face in lane. And theres nothing wrong with buying a skull stick anyway since it works with her passive.

Save LW for endgame.

PS Im referring to those people who comment on what is clearly a low level game and point out bad builds and such. Wow.

What boots do you get?

I'm not telling you to not build brutaliser, I'm saying that if you build brutaliser, dont rush last whisper right after. Brutaliser is an early game item so if you want to make the most of it, you should get damage (BT, or if you cant afford that, dorans - also an early game item) this is because youre already penetrating a shit ton of their armour already.
There's also the fact that Brutalizer reduces the effect of Last Whisper, due to the fact that flat ArPen is applied before % ArPen.

What this means is that you will be effectively gimping the amount of armor you'd penetrate with your LW, due to your Brutalizers flat ArPen. Hence why you usually don't mix the two.

Obviously if the game draws out, you're gonna get LW eventually. But if you're going for Bruta, you should be investing on raw damage afterwards, until you absolutely need the LW.

What boots do you get?
Situational. I don't know if I kept records of this, but in general I almost always get one of these:

* Mercury treads the vast majority of the time, to handle teams with strong AP and/or top lane AP champions (Rumble), to handle top lane champions with CC, and to hopefully allow Riven to survived close combat with CC.

* Armor boots if I am getting really beat up by some physical top lane person early for some reason, or if the other team has something like 4-5 AD champions.

* Cooldown boots seem reasonable, I think I remember you're a fan of them, and I could try them instead of brutalizer and then get last whisper for ArPen. I really just haven't tried this approach yet but it feels like it would be a bit squishy to me.

Side note, I must not have laned against pantheon much because he was a nightmare with the longer stun than Riven followed up by heartseeker. I'm not sure of proper Riven approaches in that situation, or whether it's better to use someone else.

Regarding last whisper, I normally get bloodthirster immediately after brutalizer, and go guardian's angel/infinity edge/last whisper/whatever depending on the situation or how crazy I am.

I'm not allowed to point out bootless AD Sion? Or Clarity Veigar? Or mobility boots/Aegis rush supports? Or Ignite/Flash Warwick?
So many condescending people in this thread whenever someone posts a screenshot from a game. Not a surprise this game has the worst community.
Why read so much into it?

gotta agree with bok bok, it's kind of insane all the people posting after a picture going WHAAAAT TWO PDs ON ASHE BAHHHH.

and to summonz, it really doesn't seem that your stats are horrible, yet you are still stuck in that ELO; FOOD FOR THOUGHT?!?!!? The problem doesn't seem to be your k/d/a. You gotta carry those games with your big boy stats, and escape your elo prison

Oh I'm aware I'm quite bad. I would like to think I often (usually?) end up being one of the top 1-2 people on the team in terms of kills and gold, but I'm sure there is more to learn. I have probably played 1000 games or so but I'm a really bad learner, and I need to learn things like trying to more actively carry.

I'm not allowed to point out bootless AD Sion? Or Clarity Veigar? Or mobility boots/Aegis rush supports? Or Ignite/Flash Warwick?
Honestly, any of those are probably less of a problem than maybe 50% of games having at least one person who does one or more of the following:

  • AFK in lobby, missed bans/got a random champion because of it.
  • Instalock champion, bonus points for doing it without typing anything after a higher pick already asked for and picked the role.
  • Disconnects/reconnects constantly due to network problems or otherwise.
  • Sits in their own lane, never joins team, types maybe two lines the entire game, mutes/ignores any requests/warnings/begging from teammates for help on objectives.
  • Sits afk under turret/in spawn.
  • More or less actively griefs in some fashion.

Low ELO ranked has a good bit of gambling regarding which team ends up with the afk/disconnecting people.

If dominating your lane isn't enough to win, you need to be able to make dem big plays - especially if you are the top earner. Or at least spur your team to do them.

I'm not allowed to point out bootless AD Sion? Or Clarity Veigar? Or mobility boots/Aegis rush supports? Or Ignite/Flash Warwick?
But what exactly are you pointing out? That these players are bad and made bad choices? They're low level players!

I am probably around the same ranked ELO as Summons and I don't see stuff like that when I do try ranked. Obviously it's worth bringing up just so other people don't do the same thing.

What's wrong with Aegis? I thought it was one of the most cost-effective items in the game?
It's a team fight based item. The earlier you get it the less helpful it feels to me. You should probably grab at least two GP/10 items first. No reason not to pick up a Heart of Gold while playing support most of the time. It's a good item but stop and pick up the HoG first at the very least. And if you're playing Soraka CDR is a lot more attractive early on to me.
What's wrong with this?
Because you need mobility, especially as Warwick.

You aren't bad. I bet just unbinding your V key would raise your ELO by a significant amount. Not only are you too passive, but you scare your teammates into being too passive as well. The day you truly care more about forcing objectives than you care about your kill:death ratio is the day your ELO shoots through the roof.

Oh. Well yes, get your HoG and Philo first.

Well, Flash gives you mobility in a sense that it can give that surprise extension to your ult range. I don't see how Ghost would exactly be great on WW and Teleport depends on who else on your team has it, plus how many enemies can backdoor hard. Ignite gives him his only other ranged damage.

You are seriously crippling yourself if you take no mobility summoner. Ignite is a terrible summoner spell on WW if you're jungling. You lose out on escape, initiation, and ganks. You don't need ranged damage, that's not your job and it isn't going to help you that much. Being able to stick to someone with Ghost on or use it to come in for a gank would be far more beneficial than ignite.

I hate teams getting ahead of themselves when they start to develop a lead. I just won a game in Ranked to put me over 1500. Our Lee Sin got a triple kill bot at the 2:30 mark and our team was doing really solid up into the mid game. The other team had a TF, Noct, Trynd, and Taric, people who can jump on you really hard if you push too hard. My team wasn't listening to me at all, they weren't farming correctly and were pushing way to far on their own. No one would group up mid where I was as Morg. I basically dedicated the whole game to putting wards down and following the other team and counter ganking them because my team wouldn't listen. Almost blew the game on us when we were up a good 20 kills.

I doubt he'd take ignite to jungle. Did you consider that perhaps he's laning? And No. No ghost. You have a fucking instant dash strike and speed up already. No. Stop acting like you know shit.

Don't worry bro I lost 9 games in a row and dropped to like 925. I just won and brought it back up to 950.

I dont think I'm that bad but I guess no thinks they're as bad as their elo is. :/
Yeah, I'm much lower than that.

Kiunch and I just ended our streak of 7 pantheon + leona wins in a row. :( We crushed bottom lane, were like 5-0 or 10-1, but as pantheon I was like the only one doing damage on the team. Kennen top got destroyed, Udyr jungle died a ton, and the poppy + AP yi (once he left bottom lane to level up) + ahri on the other team crushed everything we had.

Gragas held mid tower for a bit longer, but still doesn't have the damage to carry. I ended up dying too much and was 13/6/4 by the end. :(

Your complete inability to interact with or discuss things with people on any level has become unbearable.

Why would that Warwick be laning with Smite and a jungler build? Would that make the summoner spell selection any better? I'm not reccomending Ghost over Flash, I just think it's a better option than having no mobility summoner. I think every champion should take one or the other (which in most cases should be Flash). If you wanted to take a targetable summoner at least recommend Exhaust. Ghost isn't completely useless or redundant or Warwick. Enemies aren't always below 50% health, and there are plenty of opportunities for juking, enemy evasion, dives, and ganking that having Ghost opens up. Is it optimal on Warwick? I dunno, probably not but that doesn't stop a lot of top players like TOO running Smite/Ghost.

I honestly have no desire to interact with you on any level in the future, so don't feel compelled to respond to this post unless your desire to be demeaning, uninformed, and unpleasant becomes is more overwhelming than it usually is.

I hate this feeling. I worked really hard to get over 1400, then I get like 5 losses in a row. I see some really really bad choices in these matches. Now I am scared to qeue for ranked;(

I act condescending to you because you're just picking on low level players while pretending to think you're informed.

I honestly have no idea what you're talking about. First you point out flash/ignite as bad and now you say the guy has smite so he can't be laning. Also keep in mind you were responding to akhea who was asking why is ignite/flash bad together. I have no idea why you're talking about no mobility summoners since he is taking flash.

For the record, lanewick takes flash ignite normally, flash smite for jungle wick. I don't see why you have to make a point of low level players to explain anything.

Wow. Okay, no wonder this is all so obfuscated. That was a typo way back there. I meant to point out that Smite/Ignite, which is what's in the picture, was terrible. Flash/Ignite is what you run top lane, but if you are jungling I just had no idea why you would take Ignite.

A ranked game where our Nocturne dcs at minute 1 but I don't give a shit!

I get mf 10 kills in the first 20minutes and win the game. We start roaming and start killing everyone. Lots of fun :)

Wow, even Ferga's super high ELO has it -- are ranked games truly worse than normal games? I rarely ever seem to notice people quitting in normal games, but literally 50% of ranked games seem to have at least one person AFK in lobby, AFK in spawn, disconnecting for 5 minutes, griefing/trolling, ragequitting, or some variant of the above.

Like, I understand if you don't have time or whatever, but can't all these people play NON-ranked games? It's ridiculous how it's literally almost every game some times. I think 3+ of my ranked losses last night had 1-2 afk or disconnected people on my team.
