I have a question for anyone that uses the lego store online.

I have decided to finally pull the trigger on getting the ghostbusters firehouse. I prefer to buy Legos in person but the nearest store is 3 hours away and I don't have any plans to make it up there anytime soon. I know it's crazy but I want the box to be in good condition since it's such a large purchase. What are your experiences with ordering the high end sets and the condition they come in? How often do you get a damaged box?
Of 20+ orders I've had 2 damaged boxes. After raising to customer service I was given some extra VIP points the first time. The second time I was offered an exchange which I passed on. Bigger box items are more prone to damage due to the weight. Also, promo items can put dents or divots in the boxes.

I ordered the Firehouse about a year ago and it arrived slightly dented due to the free promo polybag that was thrown in the box for that month. The polybag had room to slide under the GB HQ box during shipping and some of the pieces pushed into the box.

You'd probably have no issue if the promo wasn't a polybag this month.

the old fishing shop looks lovely. Hopefully it's no taller than the Brick Bank / PetShop modulars so I don't have to do anything crazy to my shelves.

My latest order arrived with the Batman Phantom Zone polybag instead of the disco/clown one. I wonder if they are in short supply.

Ah I didn't realize they had changed the promo, yesterday it was a free poster.

wow is that Kato of Green Hornet / Bruce Lee fame?

In other news the Technic BMW motorbike comes with instructions for both the main and B models, which is nice of them.

Placed my S@H order for Batman minifig promo today. I ordered the DC Super Hero Girls Wonder Woman set for my daughter and the Joker mobile for myself. Also two Batman CMFs to tip over $75.

I still want to pick up Clayface, the Riddler Car, Mr. Freeze and the Joker balloons. Also getting the Batwing and Ultimate Batmobile later this year!

It says
The “Ultimate Batmobile” set will be released on June 1 with a retail price of $129.99 (on Brickset there is German price of 139.99 Eur)

The set includes eight minifigures of “Lego Batman” characters —
Batman, Robin, Batgirl, Polka-Dot Man on a flying disc, Alfred Pennyworth (in Batsuit), Wicked Witch of the West and two Flying Monkeys.

The Batmobile divides into
four different vehicles — the Batmobile, Batwing, Bat-Tank and Batcycle —

and there is a rotating Bat-Signal with a Lego light brick.

Oh man - that looks great! Definitely jumping high onto my Want List.

It also addresses one of my major complaints about the Wicket Witch pack in Dimensions. When you have mini-fig Flying Monkeys in the game, why don't they exist in real life?! Thanks, Lego Batman Movie!

I was checking the old Ideas project:

It seems improved in every way, the roof looks better, the store sign looks better, however one point: Lego designers changed the right corner of the shop, simplifing it. The project had a double corner (and the lamp was placed there) while the set has only a normal corner.

We still need to see its interior, of course, but it looks amazing.

Too bad about that corner. That was a nice detail

But I love the changes to the roof
I also liked better the tower roof in the Ideas project (maybe better colors?).

That corner was changed but the official image is not clear enough. That part that has the lamp now looks like deeper than the rest of the side wall, but it is not the same as the original project. Looks wider and not deeper.

Waits for clearance for the second set 😝

But if it is over 2000 pieces the cheapest would be $150. Calling $160.

LEGO Batman Movie was fantastic - will take multiple viewing to catch all the details.

Stayed through the credits to see the wetwired mention.

Speaking of which, wetwired can you list all the vehicles you worked on? Put them in spoiler tags for those who haven't seen the movie.

not really as I only know what is in the movie from the trailers, which are only a fraction of what I made. I don't know how many of the rest made the cut. If there's any you're curious about I could probably answer whether I did or not
