LG Display to start production of 27 inch and 32 inch WOLED panels by the end of the year [oled-info.com]

LGD will start producing 27-inch WOLED panels as early as by the end of October, targeting small TVs and gaming monitors. LGE will be LGD's first customer, and it plans to release its 27-inch OLED display in Q1 2023.

LGD also plans to introduce a larger 32" WOLED panel, which will enter production towards the end of 2022. In addition, LGD will increase production of its ~40-inch panels. LG's focus on smaller panels was already reported a few months ago. The company also demonstrated a 30-inch transparent OLED a few days ago.

LG Electronics is already selling 31.5" OLED monitors and also 27" OLED monitors, but these use JOLED's printed panels and not LG Display's WOLEDs, and they carry a very high price tag.

32 inch 120+ hz OLED gaming monitor is all i wanted for years.

32 inch OLED...oooof, beautiful.

I Just picked up the LG 32GQ850 and its mind blowingly good. One slight issue though. It keeps thinking that my games are set to 4k 120 when in dedicated fullscreen and needs a firmware update or something. Im having to play everything borderless windowed at the minute to get my 260Hz.

Amazing monitor though, picture is incredible.

OLED hasn`t been stellar for work environments so far due to the shitty full screen brightness and the burn in possibilities with static elements like a taskbar f.e..
For something I´d consider buying as a monitor I´d need an allrounder. Let´s see how that turns out.

Glad to see this. I mean when I was looking for a monitor about 2 years ago I was hoping to get a 32" 4K HDR that could do gaming and productivity and there was nothing for that. (I got a 27" 1440p 144hz monitor instead. The only thing that I was considering was a 42" OLED which was a bit bigger than I wanted.) Now there are LCDs that will do that plus OLEDs coming down the pike. (Wonder if by the time I replace my monitor in 5-10 years will microleds exist.)

I just want a 48" QD-OLED with 4x HDMI 2.1 ports.

Make it happen Samsung/Sony/LG.
Sony will hopefully roll out with new Mediatek chips that support 4x HDMI 2.1 ports.

49” and 77” QD-OLEDS are going into production as well, so Samsung will likely have what you’re looking for. I just hope they add a polarizing layer or some other filter so there’s no black lift with ambient light.

Still no use to me if they cost more than the TVs. I just can't bring myself to spend more money on less screen, my brain can't compute it. I put that money into a big ass desk and now I have a 55" 'monitor'.

Im a happy OLED TV user, but the idea of using it as a monitor would bother me. On the other hand, my Phone has an OLED screen and there is no burn in, but I also dont have a taskbar being on display for much of the runtime of the device mhhhh

Wonderful.

I cant go under 42-48 inches anymore tho as ive been using giant monitors for the past few months haha. Multitasking is unmatched.

Going to be very interesting to see the comparisons between WOLED & QDOLED!

I'm glad we'll have more choices! Hopefully these are priced "reasonably" fingers crossed...

QD-OLED is better than WOLED. There isn't much to discuss, the latest WOLEDs have been compared to the 1st gen QD-OLEDs and I think the only issue with the latter right now is ambient light making it look grey when it's off.

When its on too. These qd oleds aren't perfect. Oled in general is still awesome though. I look forward to its continued evolution.

That's interesting, thanks for the info. I know a big deal was made of when Alienware released their QD-OLED monitor, but haven't really heard much noise about WOLED. Maybe these will be lower priced then, if it isn't as good as QD.

There is one QD OLED monitor on sale, sadly the pixel arrangement is weird in those, so fonts look wonky on them.

Oh yes that's the other thing that's a downside, maybe needs a software solution if they don't change the pixel arrangement in future panels.

Ah right, well that's a bit shit, granted I wouldn't recommend to view HDR content not in the dark anyway but that's no good for SDR.

what the hell is a woled
A shit tech that is basically a LCD with OLED backlight that doesn't worth your time to bother.
hole blow GIF

OLED is still the king with the black level and infinite contrast. Color accuracy is nothing against black level and awesomeness it brings to everything.
