Basically in XIII she had almost no personality but she wasn't very offensive then in XIII-2 she barely appears and has even less personality but is presented as the main character for no reason. Now she's getting a third game all to herself and is being touted as this amazing character by Toriyama even thought she's done nothing to earn that praise.
There were way better character's in the original but they instead focus on Lightning.
If they're going to do a prequel for anything I think it's VIII's time to shine. Laguna, Kiros and Ward please.
A man like Jecht could only fight enemies such as those.

A prequel could work great if it elaborates on GILGY visiting the ruins of Zanarkand and claiming the Muramasa sword he says is the real deal per the XIII-2 Ultimania Omega.

Oh Final Fantasy 13, how disappointing you have been for me. Square needs to kill you, let you die. FF13 has ruined Final Fantasy on this console generation. I rented 13 after lackluster reviews, returned it after seeing how linear and townless it was and kept saying oh I'll return to Final Fantasy when they realease versus or when they do the next one after the mmo I have no interest in. But no, like some sick dream I hear nothing about a new Fiinal Fantasy. Instead, 3 fucking games about the one Final Fantasy I and many other FF fans simply have zero interest in. Godamnit Square, you make me so sad.

I've actually warmed back up to JRPG's lately. I feel like I can actually sit through the stories and the dialogue and sort of appreciate it for what it is.
But I still think FF XIII was an insufferable piece of shit, and I can't believe they turned it into a franchise of its own. It is completely baffling.

When will the K-Pop era of Final Fantasy be over? I was hoping for a return to classic FF by now. Airships, Edward, crossbows and chocobos that aren't women dressed as furries.
It was her birthday, but only her 2nd worst one I would imagine.
Mog's backstory is in a sidequest chain in XIII-2, basically says that he was pulled from his world by chaos and ended up on the shores of valhalla. The rule is that the weak serve the strong, so he tries to battle around to improve his lot in the place but fails everytime. He challenges Lightning to a battle of rock paper scissors and loses.
So then she kills him for losing?

Academia (the original name is never given) was built in 3 AF and built up over 400 years. It was built close to Coccon so the Gran Elevator could be used to transport people and items from Cocoon.

He knew she wouldn't be happy without her sister and Lightning's blessing and he himself believed her. It is not clear if he was branded by Cactuar by choice but it did allow him some limited time travel ability. We were supposed to learn of his focus from a novel but that never materialized. Given he was fighting in the area, maybe he was just branded to fight for the Fal Cie's amusement?
She was made with no purpose and with no power. She missed her mother who she resembled. I suppose killing herself gave her some purpose according to Fal Cie logic and showed her father that she existed. After all, she ended up creating humanity as a result.
And that's why Mog is her servant. What was the problem? Its a nice tidbit that she saw an old memory in that hapless moogle.
