Loose disc found in brand new sealed PS4 cases...again

Is this annoying to you?

I went to best buy to pick up a ps4 game and this is probably the fifth time it has happened. Loose disc in the case. When i open it, I see that a piece of the plastic holder in the middle has been chipped off so the disc flipped in the case. What the hell happened?

it's not a big deal but it kinda dampered a tiny bit of my excitement for the game since I expect brand new sealed games to not have any imperfections including the... case.

I can't remember this happening for ps3 cases. I guess the ps4 cases are more cheaply made?

again not trying to make it a big deal but it's annoying since i want my stuff to be free of any damage when I buy something brand new.

Happens a LOT to PS4 cases. Never had it happen once to an XB1 case for me.

I guess it's just the way they're made. The plastic is cheap, I've also gotten a few cracked PS4 cases when never with XB1. Sucks because my PS4 collection outnumbers my XB1 like 10-1.

We had this topic recently, and it happened to be at least 3 or 4 times then.

Since then, I've gotten another 4 or so games (Yakuza, GR2, TLG and Berserk) for PS4 that have all had loose disks.

It drives me insane.

I feel like half the games I buy end up with a loose disc. Probably the UPS drivers just chucking the boxes or something, not a big deal but the PS4 cases really are super cheap.

It's annoying but as long as the disc isn't broken it isn't a big deal for me, it would never affect my excitement for the game.

I've had this happen pretty much all my disc based consoles at least once except the Xbox One, WiiU and PS4.

360, PS3, Wii, Saturn, GameCube, PS2 etc etc. happened at least once over a long period. The current 3? Nope.

Definitely had this happen to me more than a few times. It's annoyingly, particularly if you're buying a game near release and paying full-pop for a game.

I always check the condition of the disc before I play -- if there's scratches, you bet your sweet ass I'm returning it.

This only happened to me once, and I bought tons of ps4 discs.
It doesn't scratch easily but annoying when it happens though.

I've only have 4 ps4 discs and none of them came loose, strange this seems so common. Hope P5 isn't loose when it shows up.

Never happened to me before, can see how it'd be annoying though.

Knowing my look it'll happen with Horizon and the disc will explode or something now.

The tabs in the center are too weak.

I think it more has to do with shipping / retail outlets not giving a shit with how they treat the merch. As here in Japan for 14 years literally never had an incident where a disc was lose across the various disc based platforms.

When was back stateside had 2 copies of games I picked up from Best Buy like this. PS4 RE5 and Whatever the latest Assassins Creed game was, forgot the name atm. In Walmart was talking with another worker who was shaking cases to look for loose disc ones to replace, when I was looking for a copy of the Uncharted Collection. Kinda weird lol

I'm not sure what's worse, this or the fear of cracking the disc in half because it's so tightly stuck in the case trying to pull it out for the first time.

I have a Destiny steelbook like that, always think this is the one that snaps it, when I go to take it out. Pretty sure that shit is intentional.

Oh hey, this happened to my Amazon order of Nioh and I thought it was just me.

Yeah, good thing the blu-ray disk coating seems to be invincible or something. I would've been pissed if it had been damaged somehow.

Go digital. No more loose discs.

Exactly what I did. Except it wasn't loose discs. Too many cracked discs from steelboxes. Hell even discs from the awful new recyclable boxes. People never bother to check, but I'd wager that a lot of folks's physical collections have cracks and dings in the discs's inner rings that they never noticed. Cracks that will get worse in the future.

I would say 75% of my Best Buy games shipped are like this. The handful of games I get from other outlets (Amazon, Gamestop) have had maybe 2-3.

No Xbox One games ever disconnected from their little disc holder though...

I've said it before, and I'll say it again: They should use a foam insert like Sega did with Saturn game cases.

At first glance on my phone your disc looks to be cracked.

The case clearly has a design flaw and Sony should address it... they probably won't. It's happened to me a couple times.

Working in electronics at a retailer I can tell you almost half our stock for PS4 games comes in with loose discs. It's annoying, I try to get them sent back. When grabbing from the case I always do a check before selling to a customer.

Yeah I bought PS4 earlier this month and like 6 retail games, 4 of them were loose discs. First one was used so I thought it was just the seller being shitty at packing, then it happened to 3 new sealed games.
