Also, the momentum that Splintbot bandwagon got was pretty bad. I guess I contributed there, but I wasn't really that suspect of the duo; I just thought it'd be really funny to do. 'Course, that's also why I decided to keep my vote on Blawl, in the end, since they're the ones I actually wanted to lynch.

It's one thing to attempt a horrible gambit and have it fall flat on its face, it's another to intentionally make a bad play for shits and giggles. So, uh... don't.

Do you want me to quote every single one of my posts from D2 where I literally said the same thing or are we ready to move on?

i'm ready for you to die so we can move on from this distracting WIFOM shit that's been going on with you since D1

Then vote for me. Right now. But at least try to point out contradictions that are actually contradictions and not try to construct a motive out of nothing.

My bad, I see we're not on the same page here. I wasn't pointing out a contradiction, I was pointing out you saying "I am doing something dumb because I think it is funny and not actually because I think it will help us win". Generally, this is considered unhelpful, so I requested that you not do it from now on.

1. I'm surprised that *Splinter/cabot weren't saved after Blargonaut/Kawl lynch, unless there is a PR that prevented it.
2. Were they a essentially vanilla character? I'm not sure I understand what their role is, maybe someone here can explain what the point of them being able to visit someone is with no action.
3. Of the roles revealed, One True Pairing was the only one that sounded 100% LOVE aligned.

Screws around with trackers. If a town-aligned tracker were to track Splintbot and saw that they visited another player during the night, the tracker could then believe that they have an active Power Role. Same to a scum tracker.

You guys have to realize, there are 25 votes between the two candidates yesterday.

The Mafia members are sitting right in that vote.

Did they get on the Blarg vote, or the Splinter vote? Maybe a little of both?

Well, no shit, that's almost everyone in the game.

voting stuff

For the record, I asked Gorlak to hammer because I wouldn't be around for the day end otherwise. Also, my vote was on Blarg for the majority of the day phase; I took it off only when things started to heat up towards the end.

Want to mention that I only had one vote on Blarg (look at post counts, I forgot the "Vote:" in one of my posts, thought it mattered). As well, I had not expected the day to end early, which was a stupid mistake on my part, but I wanted to remove my vote on Blargonaut/Kawl to ensure that it didn't happen, and that I could properly catch up (it is midterm season) to make a decision on who to vote. When I got on in the morning, the day had finished early and I couldn't throw a vote down.

Based on activity and the fact that they were a target that almost were lynched. Makes them an easy target for mafia as the heat is off them.

What? Why would Mafia kill a target that is getting a bunch of heat from Town players and are a good lynch target for them?

Karkador is waiting for me to join in the conversation before revealing what happened.

We got conversation bombed. For one whole day and night phase we can not talk in our lover chat. We even lost access to post in it (though we can see it). Pair 2 Lover chat is closed for this voting day/night phase.

We used our second shot last night to track a player on our short list of potential scum targets. They did not move towards anyone last night. I'm REALLY glad we didn't go on *splinter/Cabot (who were on our shortlist night 1). Ultrajay and Boo Boo'n did not perform any actions last night.

Karkador and I only have 1 more tracking tonight. So if we use it we will be vanilla after that post.

My thoughts on the conversation bomb. It may be a limited use scum action. I doubt it would be a town role because of a townie used it on scum it would be devastating.

And that's all our information.

So at the very least, we know UltraJay/BooBoo didn't do the kill last night.

Can we have confirmation from Ultra/Boo that they didn't do anything last night, just to be safe?

That conversation bomb sounds like it could be very powerful depending on the pair they hit. It makes sense to target you two, certainly hampers you two quite a bit.

I agree that it more then likely is limited, would be too powerful late in the game if it was infinite.

Whether the claim is real or fake, please remember that claiming to directly quote something from your private chat is not allowed.

That's all that needs to be said on the matter.

It's possible that we got hit with it as a result of targeting Boo/Jay.

Whatever it is, it definitely comes off as a scum ability.

paraphrasing stuff I thought about regarding day 2:

  • how people acted before and after Kark's claim is important
  • if someone seemed to have too much information about the tracking results before they were posted in the thread, they are probably mafia
  • once Kark claimed, mafia should have assumed blarg was dead and bused him fast
  • mafia should have stayed on blarg so as not to look like flip flopping
  • mafia are probably people who voted blarg fast after kark's claim and the last few groups to vote cabot/splint
  • people who started the cabot wagon, though that was bad, are probably town
  • blarg/kawl being mafia makes flux more likely to be mafia, as blawg/kawl/flux could have planned their claims together and left timeaisis out of the loop
  • people who gave the most reasons for voting blarg are suspicious, since it should have been an easy decision for town. mafia will want to seem justified in their vote.

I agree, but I wonder why we didn't hear about this on Day 2. I suppose scum didn't have very many obvious targets, though it would have made sense for them to target Flux/Time as, at the time, they were claimed name cops. I would think that, just like in your case, they want to stifle discussion as much as possible.

Also, your track doesn't inherently clear Ultra/Boo, though it does give some credibility to them at least.

OK,just caught up. Very interesting developments so far.

I didn't see splinter/Cabot being killed last night coming. Although, it does make the last minute push for them to be lynched make sense.

This conversation bomb sounds intriguing, did you guys get any explanation on why your thread got locked at all?

I think it's more interesting that no one was conversation bombed day 1. Kark's theory about targeting ultrajay/boo is intriguing.

Perhaps a scum defense? If someone is targeted and they are scum, the action goes through, but a conversation bomb hits them back?

Might be a plausible theory, though I think that might be a bit powerful. Would make cop investigations quite interesting. They get a scum hit, then can't discuss what to do with their partner.

Though I don't think, right now at least, that they're mafia.

Kill Splibot because protection would likely be on Kark and Zipped but still hinder the latter by throwing the bomb. Because this was not mentioned on day two, it suggests x-shot. If there were three mafia pairs in the game at the start, both the remaining pairs were active last night, assuming the bomb is a scum move.

Because the heat would be off them temporarily as we are trying to digest how the votes went down and who was flipping and what not. Those votes are going to provide us with lots of very useful information.

When Zipped and I went into N2, we assumed that we were probably going to die.

However, I also thought that, instead of killing us, they would probably think they could build enough of a case against us to pick another target and let Town lynch us tomorrow.

Sure enough, we opened this day with Boo and Jay already trying to get the war drums rolling on why we're secretly scum.

How this silencing factors into that, I'm not sure. I didn't mention it at first, because I was unsure if they were aware that we got hit with it.

Silencing makes sense as a mafia role. Remember Never-Tim's role:
The Special Power of you two is One True Pairing. This power gives you 1-Shot-Target-Immunity. This means that you cannot be targeted by anyone for the first time someone tries to do it. Once any role has targeted you though, you will lose the immunity completely. You will be informed when the immunity is lost. If during the first time multiple roles try to target you, the immunity will block all of them.

Right. NeverTim's flip makes me think it was a targeted action. But nobody mentioning anything yesterday makes me think otherwise. Could be a very limited X-shot, I suppose.

Yeah, it's quite powerful and I don't see why anyone hit would keep it undisclosed.

But who is "them"? Scum? I'm not sure I fundamentally agree with your reasoning on this.

If I were Mafia, I'd keep the Town pair who are getting a bunch of heat alive because it lessens the chance that actual mafia are targeted for a lynch on the subsequent day, since the suspect Town pair will be getting a lot of the attention.

I guess my reasoning is flawed or something since they were killed, after all.

Since we know scum has an X-shot move already (blarg/kawl's move), maybe
They are rotating their powers to limit their exposure. So first night Blawl put in the kill order and tracked Kark and I. Last night the convo bomber got us and killed *splinter/Cabot.

That way we never get a chance to read all of them in one night AND they still can cause trouble.

Panda, should we talk about *it*?

El Topo hinted at it. We were discussing in our now restored Lover's chat whether to mention it. We were leaning towards it being a scum role so we were inclined to mention it. I had personally been hesitant to bring it up yesterday because I wanted to discuss the possibility of it being a town role with my partner in private before bringing it public. Also, there was already plenty to talk about yesterday, so revealing it immediately didn't seem super important.

The fact that Karkhead was targeted last night makes it very, very likely it is a scum role though, so El Topo and I don't have to worry about the possibility of revealing info on a town PR to the mafia.

Really? Why did neither of you mention it? Would have been good information for town to have, that way we could all plan if it hit us.

I thought about it, but I decided against it for several reasons:
1. I was not 100% sure that it was a mafia ability, i.e. revealing it could have been helpful information to mafia, which I assume relies very heavily on the chat.
2. I had not talked much with Panda, so I was not sure about his stance.
3. I asked Panda vaguely in this thread if we should reveal it, see here. I assume he missed said question, thus I did not bring it up again.
4. I did not want distract from the Blarg/Kark debate.
5. I did not want (directly) reveal that their attempt worked, although cautious mafia surely must have noticed it, not the least because I asked Panda twice in this thread (here and here).

It seems to me that powers in this game are x-shot, so I have to wonder why would maf toss out a random conversation bomb at Giant Panda/El Topo on N1.

???
The Special Power of you two is Tracking. Every night, the two of you can track one of the other pairs, and see if they visit someone else during the night. You can do this, by sending this command PM during night phase:
Doesn't look like an x-shot to me...
