Just picked this up on the PSN sale and wow! Blown away. I actually had my wife playing it(not a gamer) and we were both laughing and having a blast. Reminded me a lot of good ole times playing Golden Axe back in the day.

Who here can vouch that this is a good game all the way through??? I got about 90 minutes in and plan on making it my game of the summer.

How are Muramasa and Dragon's Crown on Vita? Do the maintain 60 fps? Do they look good on the small screen (decent resolution)?

I love the Vita version and I sunk more hours into it compared to my PS3 version (which surprised me).

I assumed "hey, it's a beat em up. I'll probably play couch co-op a bunch", but the Vita version has the major advantage of letting you activate the shiny-spots and runes using the touch screen. Seems like a silly feature but you're going to be doing that a lot during the game, so it's pretty convenient.

The console version is perfectly fine, of course, but if you like your Vita and you plan to play through it single-player anyway... well...

Both games perform fine on Vita from what I remember, but it has been a few years.

Dragon's Crown has some frame rate issues, when there's a LOT happening on screen, but it looks gorgeous I think. Same goes for Muramasa, but that game runs very fluid.

It was great on PS3 and even better on PS4. 4K on the PS4 Pro looks super crisp as well. One of my favourite games.

Thanks. I've never played Dragon's Crown, but it looks great. It's basically Golden Axe with RPG elements, right?

I played Muramasa for the first time a couple of years back on the Wii. What a gorgeous and atmospheric game! The unit designs and backgrounds where just :messenger_smiling_hearts::messenger_smiling_hearts::messenger_smiling_hearts: . I remember you could collect these objects that would transport you around the world map, but I loved any excuse to run through those beautiful environments, so never used them. The isn't just a button masher either. Even those random flashmobs can cause you trouble if you're not careful. At the time, I could only really play early on Sat and Sunday mornings. Whenever I found one of those hot springs (I think the monkeys normally took you there), I would lay the controller down and listen to the relaxing music while making myself a pot of tea before carrying on with the game. I remember thinking at the time, "this is nostalgia in the making". It really was, and the game is definitely in my top 10 of of all time.

Next year I will likely have a 2 hour daily train commute, so might get a Vita. Apart from those two, I'm also thinking of picking up Persona 4 and Monkey Ball. I suppose I could get a Switch Lite, but I'll be living in London, and I think an older console is probably less likely to get me stabbed for...

That's one way of putting it. The levels, which are accessed though the the main hub, are fairly randomized too. Leveling up, cooking, and equipping items may sound uninteresting on paper, but they do give spice to the game too.

You'll love Muramasa Rebirth too; it looks absolutely incredible on the Vita's screen.

I played Shadow over Mystara on PC earlier this year, I guess that's a more apt comparison. Sounds good for short plays on the train.

Play it with friends. The Ps4 Pro version has no slowdown and it looks beautiful. If you play all Sorceress though you won't see that is going on the screen cause of the spells.

Can't wait until that dinosaur of a company dies out.
Atlus? They are owned by Sega and their casual titles make money.

Filthy lucre!

I have the physical PS3 version. Only played for a couple of hours, I find it difficult to keep track of what's happening on screen. Could be my old man eye sight.
Yeah, that's how I ended up feeling. It was really easy to lose contact with your own character because things were overly busy at times.

I really enjoyed some aspects of it, but it ended up being a bit disappointing for me.

Muramasa’s graphics really pop on a Vita screen, the colours are so vibrant. It’s one of those games whose graphics won’t age due to their style. Wonderful game.

Looking forward to cracking on with the DLC at some point, I mean you control a ninja cat in one of them!

I mostly enjoyed it the first time through wasn't in love with the gameplay or anything. I got deep into a second run before I got bored of it and never went back. For me, ultimately a graphic whore experience more than anything else.

Speaking of Dragon's Crown, anybody remembering Polygon's lovely review at the time, giving it a 6.5 due to being "gross in its depiction of women"? That was in 2013. The fact that they're still around...

Love Vanillaware games and I’ve bought the PS3, 4 and Vita versions of Dragon’s Crown but I could never put more than a few hours into any of them because I found it incredibly repetitive. Still enjoy the game but get burnt out quickly.

Great game. A lot of fun actually. A little repetitive of course but the bosses and levels are top notch with a lot of different secrets. My wife and I beat twice together, we had a blast.
