So after months and years of putting it off, I finally got around to reading...
My god...so awesome. I loved Bryan Lee O'Malley's art style and writing tone. The books were funny, cheeky (I loved the wink-nudges towards geek culture), charming, and I found myself falling in love with the characters. Admittedly, I had a crush on Ramona while reading them, too. Like a big crush. :\
If I have one complaint it's that Book 6 makes almost no sense. I read it twice and I still had no idea what the hell was going on making for a somewhat of an unsatisfying conclusion to an otherwise fantastic series. It also calls to light just how badly miscast the movie was...especially Michael Cera's dweeby portrayal of Scott.
Once the all the color editions are out, I plan I buying the set and re-reading them from the beginning. I've learned the power of understanding!
