I bet there will be no Original cut on this Blu-ray. Lucas wouldn't want to dig out the original negatives he said he destroyed in the 90s. They will be miraculously discovered when the Special Edition Blu-ray gets prepared.

Episode II and onwards was the first times they started using HD cameras, all film cameras resolution is higher than 1080p

It was shot on a 1080p camera, but because the movie is 2:35:1 and 1080p is 16:9, it's 1920x817. Apparently Lucas has never heard of an anamorphic lens.

Makes me want something higher resolution than Blu-ray, just so I have an excuse never to watch those pieces of shit again.

Maybe. Remember, there has still never been a proper release of the original cuts on DVD. Lucas gave them a crappy non-anamorphic widescreen transfer then (which means the letterboxing was hardcoded in). He'll find a way to screw them up again if he does include them, out of pure spite.
