Without can definitely be just as good but sometimes some really red lipstick, all done up, dios mio. This shouldn't be every single day though.

I prefer little to none, but it's the wearer's choice.....

Except heavy makeup; that's just dumb and makes no sense unless you're going to a costume party or something.

I like it when a person takes care of themselves and puts an effort into always trying to look their best. I'm all for women using makeup. In a way it seems like an artform to me -- some women are better at using/putting on makeup than others and some have better taste on deciding what kind of makeup to wear and how to wear it.

Obviously those who do it on a daily basis, care enough about it to spend the money on the better products and do some research on techniques become better at it.

Wow, I was literally just thinking about this to myself today.

I have a weird relationship with makeup. I like how I look in it, how it makes me feel better about myself, and that I have a fun time putting it on.

But in fact I really hate makeup. I hate that I don't feel comfortable with myself outside without it. I hate that I never got compliments before I started wearing it. And I hate feeling the need to hide every imperfection that I find on my face.

I try not to put a lot, but every year my routine just seems to be getting longer. Just a few days ago my mom asked me why I wasn't wearing any makeup, when in fact I was, and my sister teased saying "That's it Mom. We're so used to her wearing makeup that we think that's how she really looks now." :/

Why the long case?
I knew this girl in high school that looked like she had bumpy paste all over her face. I felt genuinely bad for her, it was some awful acne under that layer. I like when girls use a minimal amount, and eyeshadow/whatever. I hate blush or whatever with a passion. My mom piles that stuff on.

I've been told I look better without. At some point I'll take real comparison pics.

When we first started dating, my girlfriend noticed that I always complimented her when she went sans makeup. I had no idea there was a correlation, I just thought she looked good. She now goes natural most everywhere.

The right makeup can definitely look good, but after seeing natural for so long, makeup throws me off in a weird, instinctual way. Like, don't change your face, I liked your old face. Uncanny valley or something.

Try to put it like this, you are not hiding your face but in fact highlighting it. Enhancing the prettier parts.

I get this as well. When I put on makeup with my bfs they're usually like "meh."

I don't think I can ever bring myself to put up comparison pics :/

You'd be surprised how many people will find way less makeup than you utilize better.

I'm too lazy to wear make-up so don't bother on a day-to-day basis. If it's a special occasion or I'm making a video with my own face in it, I might wear it.

As for other women, they can do as they please. Some like it, so go for it.

When your out, in a club, and theres two girls standing there. One with make up looking good, and one without. Which one do you talk to?

I sure as hell know which one Im talking to.

I think the makeup argument applies more to girls you dont know as opposed to your SO. Your not gonna care too much when you see your girlfriend without makeup.

Wtf at makeup on men tho.

Would be great if this 'effect' were more prevalent (whether with or without make-up).

Other than that: some people it suits to wear make-up and some it doesn't. If you feel pressured (not) to do make-up, it's a wrong thing anyway. /statingtheobvious

Also, emphasis on the 'not'. Cause that's also a social pressure.

I'd like you to to post them, because it seems that you are not being a fair judge of your appereance and are acting mechanically using make up just because you are used to and not doing so reflects badly to your self esteem.

Social prejudices aside...there is absolutely nothing wrong in grooming up, even if you're a man.
If you think it makes you look better then why not?

I think some make up can really make a huge difference but overdoing it can be kind of a turn off for me if it's like an everyday thing. The other day I saw the best example with a girl that I had met without make up of any kind and that I would have already considered extremely pretty. Then, on a different day, she had some important meeting at work and decided to dress up, make up and so on and holy shit she suddenly was simply off the charts beautiful. I was so surprised that I think I left my mouth open for a bit haha

So yeah, make up is fine with me, I guess.

But guys wearing it? Fuck that lol

all good things
You know what's fun? Seeing someone with out make up for the first time.

I woke up in bed with someone once and she looked at me and said now you've seen me without make up.

I said yeah... I was wondering where your eyebrows went. I guess that explains it!

I have always preferred without.

I have a thing for a girl in an unkept pony tail, no make up, sweatpants and flipflops, doing laundry or something.

Nailed it. I wanna know what I'm waking up to.

That said : Eye makeup - liner and shadow - makes me go crazy.

Quite a bit.
None in these though.
You look great without, but then again thats all preference and pale, skinny and no makeup is my "type", physically speaking.

I put some concealer on myself every now and then because my skin in very prone to getting shaving pimples and red bumps, so I normally have to deal with atleast one or two at any given time
After switching to wet shaving, I rarely even get one. But when I do, hey who cares if im a guy. Id rather people not see that bump.

Frankly, and the vast majority of people (men and women) seem to agree, girls with a little makeup on look noticeably better than they do without. It enhances their features and is a big uptick in their appearance. Like many guys, I'm not a fan of heavy makeup though.

Girls should be comfortable going with or without. Wearing makeup isn't hiding who you are, it's enhancing your features.

You do realize that every single male actor on tv or in movies or on the red carpet is wearing more makeup than I've ever worn, right?

Yeah, I know, terrible.

I just hate any sort of cream or oil on my skin. It would literally drive me nuts to have something on my face all day. Thankfully girls don't "demand" this for guys.... yet.

Yeah... I have to just have this mindset and maybe tone down a little bit with makeup :B

I don't necessarily think that I'm ugly (though I have been called that, but lmao fuck them), but trust me the difference is there. I've gone through years of not wearing makeup only until recently, so I know how people react to my natural look, which is really just not noticing me at all. I'd love to be brave enough to put up comparison pics, but I'm really not comfortable with that and don't think it'd improve my insecurities and self esteem if I end up doing so.

makeup is great, but of course everything in moderation

the fashionable thing for males to say is that they prefer no makeup, i hear it all the time and it does my head in

Something I realized:

How can freckled women use foundation without hiding their freckles?
It's not a trait that should be hidden, and in every pre-post pic posted the loss of freckles make the use of makeup worse imho.

Here, the before picture look better if I'm going to be honest:

Chris Rock has a great bit where he talks about how women expect him to tell the truth when everything about them is a lie. "Your breasts ain't that big." "You ain't that tall." "Your hair ain't that long." You're skin isn't that smooth" "Everything ABOUT you is a lie, and you expect me to tell the truth?" "FYUCK YOU!"

EDIT: Found it

Or he's just using hyperbole and someone who doesn't know what makeup or heels do is kind of an idiot.

People need to stop Micheal Scotting, it is not a good look. No pun intended.
