I want this season to be good, but I have so little hope in entertainment media in 2020.

Gina has been cancelled

So it's likely to be entertaining either way. I'm sure she will do something construed as toxic in the show.

I rarely watch shows week to week but I may try and do that with season 2.

I'm pretty confident the show will keep on getting better and better as the seasons progress as that's the trend that past Star Wars shows have followed, especially when Filoni is involved.

This is kind of how I feel too.
I may rewatch The Simpsons season 1-9 to try and justify a subscription for a few months.

I think the Marvel stuff may have been delayed? Def isn't coming until 2021.

Edit: WandaVision is apparently coming Dec 2020

Been waiting for this since season 1 concluded. And I love the fact that it’s week to week instead of dropping all episodes at once.

Looking forward to it. Currently rewatching season 1, and I really hope they keep the week to week isolated stories a long side the over arching storyline. I loved the Tatooine bounty hunter and Bill Burr episodes a long with the first two. The last two episode didn't really work for me. Particularly the last episode which was a let down. Bring it on.

Ah the blue-gilled dude he captures in the first episode is back.

Can see him briefly on the ship in the 3rd trailer.

Looking forward to this myself, enjoyed the last season more than the last films.

Welp. Just watched it.

AWESOME.

And written and directed by Jon Favreau too! The guy gets Star Wars. From the look, the feel, the pacing and the simplicity of the writing. He should have helmed the sequel trilogy and not Jar Jar Abrams or Roundhead Rian.

Where to begin:

Mando being Mando - Dyn Djarin may be a adopted father to the Child now, but he's still a cold blooded killer and bounty hunter when the need arises. Glad they didn't soften his character for this new season.

Return to Tatooine - I didn't hate episode 5 from last season as much as other people, but the time spent there was too short for my tastes. Nice to see an extended episode on the planet.

Timothy Olyphant - Raylan Givens! Actually he's Cobb Vanth, a self proclaimed lawman who's wearing Boba Fett's old armor. This doesn't please Mando of course, as only Mandalorians are allowed to wear the armor. I personally don't know much about Vanth, but Olyphant is always a pleasure to watch.

Tusken Raiders - Nice to see them as people and willing to work with other races. I'm glad the series took time to give a focus on them.

Krayt Dragon - Holy shit. Haven't seen one of those since the first KOTOR. I liked the way it was portrayed here better though.

Temura Morrison - Is he Boba Fett? Or Captain Rex as was rumored? I guess we'll find out eventually but it was still a treat to see him.

Glad to see this series is still hitting all the right notes. Bring on the next episode.

I'm always surprised, due to my own ignorance, that he's such a good creator. To me he's the comic relief doofus from Iron Man.

Dude directed the first Iron Man movie and started the whole MCU. Granted I've not seen his other films, but the guy has got directing chops and is a certified genre fanboy.

Personally what he's done with The Mandalorian is nothing short of miraculous. He's made a Star Wars property that the majority of the fanbase loves.

I'm not that deep into the details of a movie and generally don't follow media, thus citing my ignorance.

Really excited to watch S2 now.

I think I've become too cynical for Star Wars, because all I could think about was how flaccid Favreau's direction is. The concept stills at the end look way better composed than the final result (don't know why the color palette is so washed out and grey either).

This is the closest we're getting to Dune this year, huh?

That wasn't Boba Fett at the end, was it? Jesus this is some fan-pandering shit.

okepisode, sand people sounded like actual retards.

why they changed their voices i dont know

was that a trooper or boba at the end?

That was a damn good episode. If this is an indicator of scale for the rest of then this is definitely the way. It's already an improvement on season 1 in terms of scale., chracter writing and pacing. Even Dolby Vision is finally bright.

Did u watch it with HDR on? I did the first time and it looked like shit. Watched it w/out HDR on my other TV and it looked way more vibrant.

Also, regarding your spoiler: Yes it's him and it's not pandering at all.

I dug it. Really had this weird sense of excitement/wary for Season 2 after loving season 1 but I really enjoyed it. Timothy Olyphant was great.

I slept on it and warmed up to the episode. Problem is I watched The Texas Chainsaw Massacre right before hand, and obviously 70's art house misery porn isn't the best lead up since I went into this with a "Subvert my nipples, daddi" mood, which obviously isn't what Star Wars is about (most of the time). I'm about Boba now.

As for the HDR, I'm not sure why Disney never does a proper HDR/Dolby Vision grade for this show. My quick fix last season was turn up the vibrance and crush the blacks in my settings by 5%, so that should do it.

Loved that episode but man that scene where he landed at Mos Eisley was just cringey. They were trying way too hard to try and make that woman funny, keep that trash Disney shit out of The Mandalorian.

The extras were awful, all over acting their pants off constantly. The worst was the woman who stepped forward on her porch as Mandy walked into town.

They were dodgy like the crowd scenes in the modern Battlestar Galactica series.

It might just me being sensitive to things that don't flow realistically. A bit like the uncanny valley effect.

Unusual complaint, but I feel ya, to an extent.

Can probably blame the 1st AD or 2nd AD on the day(s), as they no doubt had really specific cues/action.

There's also the buzz of being all like "Fuck me - this is STAR WARS" and just going for it, and exaggerating everything as a result.
