Not inherently bad and if you can keep up with it without being confused, more power to you. Just a fair warning.

I hear that Silver Spoon is only set to run for 40 chapters. 10 chapters in spring, 10 in summer, 10 in fall, and 10 in winter.
On the one hand I will miss it when it's gone, but on the other this allows for good pacing and development. An early end will also allow us to pick on another series.
People also keep telling me that it looks like Negima is coming to a close too. And Kimi no Iru Machi as well.
It'll be good to see some of these long series come to an end.

Steel Ball Run - ch. 84 Ball Breaker 2
Funny Valentine is still one of the most well written and executed antagonists ever. His powers, motivations and what not are very well crafted. As he fights Gryo you can tell this is years Araki took to make encounters like the dimensional jumping and wall of light fortune to click. Even after the ball breaker got half of his body aged, he's still coming. Crazy to think all the fighting is a recreation of old testament stuff.

I really hate the Zeppeli curse or whatever it's called. Gryo not only got shot by Funny; his Ball Breaker was incomplete from the start. When Funny said the angle he threw it at to hit him full on was his error I was stunned. Damn, another Zeppeli is going down. Wow

I tried to buy Jojo A-Go! Go!, a massive Araki art book(~400 pages), but I can't find it for less than 130 bucks. Amazon.jp has it for half that price, but they won't ship to the US :-(

Um, I think It wasn't that bad, at least it was done pretty tastefully and more or less makes sense in the character development and their personality, but I feel it's still a shame that such a beautiful manga about growing up, taking responsibilities, becoming a parent, etc, which was so charming and cute, ended this way because I feel like part of the message was lost in the transformation to this.
So yeah, the second half of the manga is best left forgotten, if you're like me and adored the anime and wanted to see how it continues...don't, that ending was perfect. It's better that way, trust me.

I took a peek at the raw scans for it once I caught up and didn't really really appreciate the ending though. First that, then Usagi Dropwhat the heck, Japan? :I
My Girl was safe though. You guys'll like that.
Fortunately, Hanamaru Youchien seems to be devoid of drama, which is what ruined those other two. Just a straight up cute comedy.

It's also very firmly stuck in stupid-ville. Negima lasts through arcs that long because the fact that an entire class-room has to all have air time. So when we are at a cool-down, like right now, we have to check in with the entire class to see what they are doing. I'm studying! I'm a secretary. I'm doing secret stuff. I'm having an identity crisis... Then after we know what they are doing, they split into "teams." Each team then has to have their story of how they arrive at following Negi to his next adventure.Angry Grimace said:

I found the ending was semi-expected considering the basic premise of the chapter (the two of them to switch so Kouta-Asaka can go with Akino and Asaka-Kouta to go with Meiko). That and we can't have any kind of good coming from Sasara's magic!
It's almost entertaining, in a weird way, to see what strange things authors come up with for misunderstandings. Even with whatever strange premise is cooked up.

Well the theme of the manga is based on misunderstandings. So the events are always suspected but this chapter really got you drawn into one side of it forgetting the other half. Maybe it was just me but near the end of the chapter I basically forgot about Asaka and what she was doing. Or I'm just used to manga ending on some heart-warming note and then the next chapter is about what Asaka was doing. But for the ending to get totally screwed over by just showing a forced make-out on Meiko on the opposing roof? That's the kind of stuff that I find entertaining.scy said:
