If they managed to score even some points, you'd lose some of your rating if theirs was low enough. Of course you wouldn't lose anything if you won without them getting any points in, but it's still pretty damn ridiculous.

It would be fine if you'd get less rating points for close game, sure. Maybe even none at all. But losing them? get the fuck out. I was 31° or something like that (in the skill based ladder), and at some point I just lost the motivation to play. Close games are the best ones, why should you get punished for them?

I wonder if they made a 3rd and 4th add-on. I wonder if they would move the select screen slightly to the left to accommodate a row of 6 more racers.

It would fit, I mean in the other Mario games there are Yellow and Blue Toads, so having other colors would fit, and there was Super Mario World with it's different colored shelled Koopas.

Did the patch not improve online stability at all? Got an in-race communication error in my very first race after installing the update. Apparently, communication errors are still interpreted as ragequits, which I was hoping would be an obvious fix in the update. Nope, still lost 30 race rating in a single match due to the error. Ugh.

True, but i think they may have planned ahead, and from the start knew how much space their total plans would take up.

That person who hacked the game only found four cups labeled DLC, and we're getting four cups.

edit: i also think we might get kirby. Going off that SSB tease, people got excited MK would allow characters outside the Mario universe, and now we see they are. So maybe that SSB tease was hinting at this.

Theory of mine, why this DLC is so cheap, is to make room in your wallet for amiibos.

You should see all you friends' ghosts when checking the rankings in Time Trials mode, provided they uploaded them with a Miiverse post. You can even get ghosts from people not in your friend list with the same system, you just have to follow them on Miiverse.

It doesn't work for me. Thanks though. I uploaded my times and made Miiverse posts but my friend can't ever find my ghosts. Same thing when I try to find his.

The top 10 ghosts are displayed and then ghosts that have similar times. My friend's ghost never shows up on the list

I think that race point calculations might have been rebalanced in general. I'm getting fewer points for high placements and losing more points for low placements even when I'm not the highest-point racer in the lobby.

This is why I (and everyone) hated the MS points system, and Wii's old point system. I find myself buying things more frequently now that I can enter the exact amount. Plus, the Nintendo Digital Deluxe promotion is how I got $5 off Shovel Knight. I've already earned enough points for another $5 coupon.

I can totally seeing this happen, they could include Battle Mode maps for the other two possible packs. They could also use that widened character selection screen to put all of the Koopalings on a single row.

As awesome as that sounds, I think Nintendo is done with Nintendo Land. Aren't they done with packaging that game anymore? They wanted it to become the next Wii Sports but the masses refused it. There was potential with that game but Nintendo came up just a little short. I enjoyed it and pull it out once and a while with family and friends.

I love the promotional screens that layer on top of the game as you cycle through them. I think the screens when you choose to purchase the stuff are powered by the Wii U OS actually. There's a lot of generic text and stuff in there that they'd have no need for if it was all Mario Kart UI. I think we'll see that exact same interface when purchasing DLC in future games (the 3DS has a similar flow these days). And I love it, it's super slick and responsive. Puts the competition to shame in that regard, I think. I was using the PS3 shop the other day, it was a nightmare.

No they didn't fix it at all.
People should be hammering them for the terrible network errors this game suffers months after release, if it was battlefield cod or any other game people would be calling for heads of the developers.
